Tire pressure for 265/70/17?

Hello, I changed my tires on my 2007 Tacoma from the OEM 265/65/17 to 265/70/17 Michelin LTX. But I cannot seem to get the tire pressure quite right. Does anyone else use this size tire and please let me know what pressure is best. I currently have them set to 42psi from the mechanic, but truck feels every pebble on the roadway.

I'm no expert, but 42 psi seems high. I run 36 on my 265/75/R16 Bridgestone Duelers. You might try it out and see how it feels.

front - 34
rear - 24

Hello again. I just want to add that I have tried 34 for the front and 24 for the rear and that works very well. Truck drives very smooth, handles well and even the tire pressure sensor light went out. Thanks again.
