I go through a lot of them, retired from construction but still do a lot of tree cutting for “fun” now. Can fit dirt bikes in the bed of a Rivian so that is all that matters. :) Guessing chainsaws would fit in the gear the tunnel. Be a shame to muck up that beautiful interior though.

Though this is probably better suited for me, something you can bang around and not give two shits about. This is owned by artist Sam Friedman, uses it as a mobile easel. That could double as a firewood hauler. Right up my alley! My back ground is construction, but also went to art school. https://www.instagram.com/samfriedman?igsh=N2Z0eWg1dGdveXRx

Yeah I am digging that thing, wonder what the price point is. RAV4 competitor? Like the Toyota, the Rav does drive nice, but man is it butt ugly. Which is just about every late model Toyota these days. New Prius isn’t too bad looking though.

Could be but I'd like the size spec on the R3. They haven't released them yet. The R2 is sorta similar in dimensions to the 2024 Land Cruiser.

Would love to see the specs of the R3, looks like a great run around vehicle and light duty camping off of FS roads.

Have been meaning to look up the size specs of the LC and R2.

It looks like it’s probably around the size of a Subaru Crosstrek.

Yeah it doesn’t look as big as a LC.

My guess is the R3 is Crosstrek size and the R2 is around a Grand Cherokee size.
The R3 looks like I’m will be a great commuter vehicle. Too bad they won’t be out until 2026.

I will admit that the R3X looks so good that I will probably order that too after placed myself in line for the R2.

It reminds me of a beefed up version of an old VW Rabbit.
I used to have a Saab 92x/WRX Wagon as my commuter car. This would be a perfect replacement for it.

Why is consumer reports raking them over the coals?

Consumer Reports did its full ranking of major auto brands, and in this post we wanted to focus on the bottom dwellers.

The five worst brands for 2024:
    30. Rivian
    31. GMC
    32. Jaguar
    33. Land Rover
    34. Jeep

definitely got that group B rally body lines, and I love it more and more. Rivian will survive if they are able to pull R2 and R3's off.

I think most of those reviews are probably based on the R1T that had some early hurdles to deal with being a truck, I don't see a lot of those problems transfer over from truck to suv tho. Fingers crossed.

The rear is exactly the same shape as the Rabbit.

Nah, my wife's Tesla Model 3 dash is simple without a lot of "junk" nobs and whatnot. Everything you need is within the screen controls. Set it and forget it.
Less crap to break! That's what I don't like about most new trucks I've looked at. Too many "gee wiz" nobs and dials.

    @stevesnj

You’re right, real close the size of the LC. Hard to gauge by just looking at pictures.

Do like the minimal look of the Teslas, but doesn’t feel polished to me, feels more like a prototype that isn’t quite ready for production. There is a Model 3 sitting in our parking lot right now. Have a couple other customers that have Rivians, much more refined interiors, at least it is to me.

Good info, thanks. Yeh that 112 wheelbase is the golden rule measurement for off roading.
