Tacoma vs. 4runner

So my 4Runner with the seats folded down will fit my 6’3 exped mattress and I can sleep in it, my old 3rd gen taco 5 foot bed he’ll even my 2nd gen taco 6 foot bed you don’t get that much room

 

Well the new Truck Engine is a 2.4 turbo 4-cylinder using that metric.

 

a bed for hauling stuff ladybug ......i dont buy a vehicle that is comfortable to sleep in - there are hotels for that

 

Traveling with a tent and sleeping bag is much nicer than staying in hotels. You get to see the trip differently.

 

The rear is just as big. I can put a bed back there lol

 

With the rear seats in the upright position?

 

No you have to put them down... I have both a taco and a 4runner so I just grab the one that suits best for that moment. They both have their places.

 

They sure are nice…….a 4 Runner will spoil you for sure

 

One is an capable SUV and other one is capable pick up truck..

So comparing SUV and pick up truck does not make much sense... If you want SUV you go SUV, if you want pick up truck you go pick up truck. Of course SUV will have more luxury and comfort than a pick up truck

Ummm yeah . . . . I did that a lot of that in the Army so I'm going with a no on the tent and sleeping bag thing - it's the pool and the hot shower not to mention the uh, bathroom - just sayin. But hey - I'm all in on hitting the trail in my Taco.

 

Thank you - why is this sooo hard to understand. We have a truck and an SUV - they are different BECAUSE we use them for different things.

 

Doing it because you want to vs having to can be a different experience. Spending the night next to lake vs a room with a view of a parking lot is much more desirable. The trail doesn’t always offer motel rooms.

 

Like hell.

I would buy a 4Runner if it was available with a manual transmission. Otherwise, no.

 

One has a bed, higher rated towing capacity, and a manual option available.

The other has 3rd row seat option and is built in Japan, if you care about that.
