Yeah that one lol And sounds like a honda with a Folgers coffee can welded on the tail pipe lol. But come to think of it they might have to lift that tail pipe up it already looks hideous almost dragging on the ground .They can keep the torque as far as I’m concerned totally happy with power on mine .
Hey” That one” you speak of we were talking about sound weren’t we ? Or do want to you want to talk about snapping transfer cases on the 24. How do you like that sound ? :D
Maybe it’s all that extra torque “ That one?”

Not sure where I've heard it but recall statements to the effect that professional mechanics normally aren't familiar with the 2.7 because they never see them in the shop. Maybe it was the Car Care Nut.

So the forum is still full of a bunch of retards who all know more than anyone else and can see into the future beyond a doubt to describe long term reliability of something that was just released. This place never fails to entertain at least.

Look Brother different strokes for different folks. I personally think the 24 is a good looking truck just not for me and I’ll leave it at that.

one thing you can be happy about, no need to get a tune, the OV tune guy won’t be making any cash off of you.

A lot of people are liking the new engine and drivetrain in the 2024, I’m not big on the price increase but I’m not too concerned about it, my 2013 will prob go another 10 or 15 years haha.

It was. He has a video about the first and only 2.7 he ever opened up to work on and the only one he had ever seen fail. I won't spoil it. It's worth watching.

That’s where I’m at. I’m hoping my Best Gen lasts me a very long time.
It does exactly what I need and has none of the nanny state crap.

My local Toyota dealership service department says they've never had to open one up either

Toyota Maintenance youtube channel (Swedish dude out of NorCal) has a video of a 2nd gen 2.7l head gasket job I'm pretty sure tho

Still happy with my 2nd Gen. Drove my brother's 3rd gen in 2016 when it came out, and, it's OK, but didn't like the shift points or how the 3.5 revs. Can't imagine I will like a turbo 4 cylinder. Turbos just add one more point of failure and the higher revs are going to accelerate wear. Just not sold on the idea. I plan on keeping my 2nd Gen until the wheels fall off - and then putting them back on and driving it some more. YMMV, and if you're happy with a 4th Gen, then go for it.

The higher revs of the turbo 4 will accelerate wear?

This is my first Tacoma. As a matter of fact it's my first Toyota!
Been driving my old 98 Ford Ranger as my daily driver for 24 yrs and in another 1400 miles it will turn over 300,000. I'm not much of a car or truck guy and have never been concerned about what other people think of what I drive. A few of my biggest reasons for going with the new 2024 Tacoma is 1) the wife has been pushing me to upgrade my ride before I retire.
    2) The Tacomas are currently one the #1 vehicles in holding their resale value. Both my son and a coworker have been contacted by the dealer and offered the same money for their Tacomas that they paid for them when they bought them new, if they in turn ordered or bought another brand new vehicle. The coworker took the deal and traded up and my son stayed with his 2018 that cost him $32k new. The same price he was offered if he traded up!
If this holds true then I could possibly trade up in 3-4 years without losing my initial investment. Not losing money on a vehicle is a rather new concept but I like the sound of it.
Are the new Tacomas worth what they're asking? Nope! But very few cars or trucks are! They are all overpriced! And I'm just going out on a limb here but I'd be willing to bet that the prices continuing to climb is far more likely than the prices ever coming down, barring a major economic downturn that devalues everyone's 401k's, stocks and the almighty dollar. If you have a Tacoma you really like then I suggest you keep it, no matter what generation it is! I can't argue the plusses or minuses of any of the generations of Tacomas nor will I pretend to be an expert on them. I will only tell you what I like or dislike about my Tacoma as I figure it out.

Exactly. All that fancy gizmo crap is already failing like the power tailgate.
