Are there ANY good aftermarket ball joints?

I've read the threads, there are lots. But it seems like there is no consensus on anything being even remotely decent outside of OEM. I know they are the best, but as you all probably know, you can't buy just the LBJ from Toyota, and I'm not clambering to buy a whole new LCA. I have Moog low-pros on there now and one went bad after 10k and in doing so, wore out every other piece of my suspension. So I'd rather not go back down that road.

I have seen a couple people say that the green Mevotechs are decent but they don't seem too common. I don't off-road much. Mostly street driving but I do go down the occasional trail if I'm out camping.

    What is the consensus here?

Correction. Don't buy OE, that's a no name brand. Buy OEM.

OE stands for original equipment, the equipment that came original on the truck. Not really necessary to correct

I have mevotech Ttx joints, they are supposed to be an upgrade. Have held up fine for now but only time and miles will tell if they were worth it

These seem to be the only ones I have heard remotely positive feedback about. This may be the way I have to go, since OEM ball joints alone dont exist

It is when shady shops sell you OE brand, and you don't double check and assume they mean OEM.

I have no problem with that. Is there any word on if they are legit? Has anyone ever gotten any knock-offs?

Not sure. I believe I put in a higher end Moog from RockAuto lists as fitting. Don’t know if it’s the best. But at least it’s greasable as an LBJ should be, while OEM is not.

I’d be curious what aftermarket fabricated LCAs use.

those are a lot closer in price to decent whole new factory arms, than much cheaper individual parts refreshing the arm.

I’ve seen people make non zerk ball joints into zerked, by drilling and tapping. But am not sure if this has the drawback of forcing new metal shavings into the joint during that process.
