People keep saying this, but I don’t see any topics on the other forum about it. Where is the news from?

It’s no big deal if stuff isn’t working. But repeating news that doesn’t exist reminds me of the idiots on Reddit trying to catch the Boston marathon bomber.

Isn't it amazing how many no-it-all's who have never been within 1000 yards of a 24 Tacoma are just so sure that a company that's been making vehicles at the highest level of safety and reliability for over 90 years, who is the largest car maker in the world and generally number 1 ranked in reliability for decades suddenly lost their mind and fked up one of their most important products?! Nope. It's like the haters are cheering for failure to justify the fact that they don't have one. My XX year old Tacoma is "better"! LMAO get real folks, no it's not. Your current ride is just fine but it's definitely been upstaged by its younger sibling.

In 300,000 miles I will have had 5-6 vehicles. Who wants to drive a truck with 300,000 on it?

The average person drives 12000 miles per year. “Get back to me in 25 years” isn’t the gotcha you think it is

Historically most tacoma owners keep their cars on the road longer than any midsized truck.

For the boomers and yuppies leasing different car every 18 months, build quality will never matter anyway. They could drive a Dodge ram and feel confident

Dependability and longevity are two different things. I care very much about dependability. I couldn't care less about it lasting 300,000 miles.

Hopefully it'll be more dependable and maintenance free than the 2GR-FKS lol

Love the idea that there is only a binary of 300k third gen owners or leasing every 18 months

I honestly tried to think of a real world practicality for that button. The only thing I could think of is that it would be really convenient when hitching a gooseneck trailer. You know, something that a midsize truck will never do.

Then again, I never really understood auto-close trunks or hatches either, unless you were too short to get leverage on it... Or you just don't want to leave fingerprints on the paint.

Splitting hairs. Dependability leads to longevity. Would you keep a truck for long if it had a ton of problems? Whether it can make it to 300k miles or not you would dump a lemon before you could find out.

Build quality is highly important to me. Longevity on the other hand which you seem to confuse with dependability isn't. I don't need it to last 300,000 miles but I do want it to be dependable for the 50-60k miles I will drive it. You know us Boomers we love to buy new cars!

You got the perfect vehicle for yourself and for Toyotas business model. You are the quintessential modern car consumer. New car after 50k miles.

This is why automakers' business models are what they are today. Nothing wrong with it. Just fact.
