I agree with what most have said. To have the info in front of you is never a bad idea. I use a obdlink mx+ as well with their app for my 2nd gen and it works very well

They probably removed it because with synthetic transmission fluid, it didn’t make a substantial impact on transmission life. Synthetic can run a lot hotter and still protect. The chart that often gets posted references old non-synthetic transmission fluid.

Since it is still under warranty I would insist that the dealership check the ATF level. They are notorious for shipping low on ATF. I just went through this with Toyota and they gave me a 10y2 Platinum warranty for free after they checked it and it was in fact over a QT low from the factory. I run a ScanGauge 3, and I can tell you for sure that while it was running low on ATF the ATF fluid temp was a little higher and TC temp was higher and stayed high even once I would slow down.

My story is in this post. Its under warranty, make the dealership check it, it is free!

I know that's a thing with the 2nd gen trucks, it's the same case with the third gen trucks?

How did you add more PIDs? I cannot seem to add any more. I have speed, RPM and economy.

Nevermind about that post, I just read your story. That's insane. I thought this was only with the 2nd gen trucks

And that chart is degradation when you run at that temp for 1 hour straight. NOT short excursions into higher temps then back down.

Only a salesman quotes features from a sales brochure. Those things are printed long before the model year. Changes happen after the brochures are printed and produced. It’s rather common knowledge.

Toyota WS fluid is semi synthetic and not known to be particularly durable. In fact, Aisin, who makes the transmission, not Toyota, recommends a service every 30k miles. If you tow a lot an external cooler is highly recommended.

That's the stock head unit from a 2021 Limited with the JBL. I use the wireless Carplay adapter to connect to it.

In the OBD Fusion app go to Settings > Preferences > CarPlay. From there, you can add additional lists or edit existing lists with more PIDs. To get the trans temp, you'll need to purchase the Toyota specific addons, which I think is $15 (1x purchase).
