The reliability after the head gasket issue is def better. The rest of day is comparable. Fuel economy isn’t bad if left alone by that I mean stock. These aren’t powerful or super fuel efficient by any means. Both 2nd and 3rd I’d say are super solid. I think that’s why most like them. Don’t feel like they are going to fall apart.

 

4.6 makes more power

also ya my plugs idk when they were last done man they were pretty ugly lookin

 

not like your inline no lol idk if anything can compare to it. i kinda call it that just since its slower then a lot of other vehicles ive owned

 

Trust me, I have a gx460 and two ls460 with that motor. It's a great motor for the LS. But on my trucks I would take the 4.7 v8 everytime. Torque down low.

 

i like the 4.7 but finding a 1st gen tundra thats in good shape isnt that easy tbh and i dont care much for that gen of 4runner personally

 

I hear that. I got lucky with my 06 tundra. Single owner and only 51k miles. It's awesome! Lol!

I wish the new 4runner still had the 4.7 v8 though! Heck I would even take a new 4runner with the 4.6 v8. Fits my bill of needs perfectly with the smaller size and opening back window.

get yourself a supercharged or jz swapped xrunner if you want a go fast truck

Yup, unfortunately you lose the rear up down window with the gx and my dogs love that!
