Some thoughts after demoing a 4th gen

RideTime must like the new car smell a lot more than I do whereas when I find something I like, I simply stick with it!
Like I've said, I'm not a car/truck lover.
My 300k mile Ranger was high on miles and low on tech. Simply put, it gets me from point-A to point-B dependably with very few issues and no payments for the last 24 years. I'm not one to care at all whether someone else going down the road is checking out my new Tacoma or my old Ford Ranger. To me a vehicle is more of a tool. I want it to get me where I want to go, and back again and be able to handle any job I need it to do whether thats getting me to work, running for groceries, or hauling 4 deer out of the field.
( which the Ranger has done!)
In short, I use my vehicles and I take care of them so that they will give me years of dependable service. An then one day when I felt it was time to upgrade my truck/tool, I went and dropped the cash on the salesman's desk and drove off in a brand new 2024 Tacoma. No payments to look forward to.
And the Ranger isn't going anywhere, I'll still use it to haul deer or pull my John boat while I go on road trips in a little more comfort and style in the Tacoma.

Oh, they did. And my first gen is/was still the coolest. I still stare when I see one and never do that with any new truck.

Alright. You're new, lemme tell ya a secret. See, I got a soft spot, because when I joined back in the day I came in hard and abrasive like it was prison rules, and it took a long minute to recover from that.

This place is much better enjoyed if you roll with it, assume everything is in good humor, and respond in kind. The folk that do that, last. The folk that don't, don't.

When someone clowns on me, I play the "Yes, and" game, and clown back. And then I ignore the ones that don't understand Yes-And. That seems to work for me.
