    Same as everybody else...
More routine, unexciting maintenance today with a brake flush and fluid exchange. This past month I've changed the oil and filter, drain and fill the diff, p/s fluid exchange and tire balanced and rotated. Boring stuff but hopefully keeps the truck on the road. That's a clean axel. Is that original?

I’d want to see how it looks with the axle jacked up @ each rear wheel to simulate flex/droop. Seems like it could loop back more over the diff. As is it appears that it might rub the exhaust @ RR flex and possibly kink at the fitting @RR droop.

    It’s a ARB air fitting.
The rubber on the outside of that metal you see. Pops forward when you insert a male air chuck. Not much like 5mm or so.

When you are done with the task, you just push the rubber and release the aor hose.

It was great to meet you today. Thank you for the professional grade install of the trailer wiring harness on my Tacoma. And, thanks for letting me help. It was a pleasure to assist a master at his craft.

yup. It’s original. It’s not terrible, but not as clean in person I don’t think. I keep it coated in undercarriage dressing. Haha

I could bring it up over the charcoal canister, instead of on the side of it, but didn’t want it to get hung up on it. I actually don’t have the cable hard mounted. The clamps used are oversized so it slides- hopefully it’ll never kink!
As far as rubbing the exhaust, i hope not, but i do have two layers of heat stuff. I’ve been under there messing with it for a few days- this seemed to be the best route. I was more concerned about it getting pulled than rubbing. The exhaust I have is definitely ‘extra’ in the way compared to some others- I was even looking at different cat backs.

Magnaflow overland series. Really well made.
I like it because it’s quiet- but could do something more compact.

knocked out my inner tie rods today at 189k, my question is what in the heck makes that a $298 part per side OE?? is it the tolerances of the knuckle? i truly don’t understand.

It should not be. They're weak and not worth that.
Used whatever rockauto has. Lot cheaper.

Short of a major upgrade, am running that plus WarFab tie rod sleeves.
the stock tie rod was some weird size, not matching what other cars use requiring 24mm and 15mm to align toe.
Aftermarket fixed that, making it also those sizes. With greasable outer.
