You don’t really have to wait till you win the lottery. I know a Rabbi that can pray for an electrifying act of God if you know what I’m saying. ;)

    New Poll :)

I confess I was tempted by the Ford Maverick when it came out.
Specifically the Hybrid paired with the naturally aspirated Atkinson cycle 2.5L engine.
BTW, much (most?) of the tech in that engine came from Ford's partnership with Mazda.
Call me an old fossil if you want, but I'm doubtful about turbo reliability.

It seemed like it would serve my use case scenario.
All I need a truck for these days is hauling wood pellets and transfer station runs.

But getting one was a problem.
Either pay an insane markup or order one...
... if one got one's order in before the order book closed for the year

It was probably for the best.

I talked to my mechanic (of many years) about it.
He said he was still trying to get his head around the complexities of Hybrids.
He was unsure if he would be willing to get into that unless he had no choice.
As for BEVs, no fucking way

Mind you, this guy is so trusted and popular that he's always booked weeks in advance.
He has maybe a half dozen employees and built up his business from nothing.

    That was enough for me.
I'll keep my Tacoma til I croak

I had my oldest daughter come over today and help me with my Taxes. Lately my brain has been in a fog bank, and I didn't want to make any mistakes. I just used the standard deduction filing single, and I don't have to pay any taxes, and I'm getting back all that I had withheld, which wasn't very much, maybe 365 dollars for the whole year. So I'm glad to have that done and behind me. I even qualified for free filing for both Federal and State, which just added a little extra money in my pocket.
