TW. Got a relatively long trip distance wise planned with a lot of wheeling in between.

I'm trying to decide on what spare parts to keep on hand in the truck. I know a spare belt, oil, coolant, and an impact to take things off, but what else would you keep on hand without being overkill?

Mine is a '21 with 45k on it right now for context

I've got all that, I meant like CV's, an alternator, thermostat. So on. I don't believe i'll need much of those since the truck is still new

Are you on road or offroad? How far away from a parts store are you going to be? My list outside of a basic tool kit would change depending on how far off the grid I plan on being.

Truck isn't my commuter so basically always off road/degraded roads. I'd say about an hour driving from most auto stores afaik

Zip ties ... larger ones. InReach Mini ($400 + monthly service) since you will not have "local" knowledge of cell towers.

My InReach was one of the first things I bought for this truck being that im frequently up in the Appalachians with no service at all. Also have a weboost but ofc that only works if signal even exists (waste of money tbh)

Jb weld steelstik epoxy putty has saved me before

Self fusing silicone tape is handy too

You know i've always seen that JB weld stick at the parts store, but always questioned its strength. What you use it on?

Dropped my motorcycle on its side and the shifter punctured the aluminum stator cover, causing an oil leak. Epoxy putty sealed for a few years before I got a new cover.

Part of my driver mirror cover was knocked off. Regular tape made wind noise. Self-sealing silicon stretched and formed to shape to hold the piece ... probably makes a noise that could be detected by machines but I do not hear it.

That sounds exactly like something I would have done to be honest. "If it fits, it sits"

I wouldn't go overboard with weight, you can probably do more harm than good.
As mentioned, small basics are smart.

Never know. Holding something together essentially - I’ve done it on a tie rod that popped apart and needed to get me home. It’s just a really strong way to hold stuff.
