Too ricey. I can't stand fender flares on a sports car.

    Yeah, that's a little excessive.

Was at Canoecopia yesterday looking at all the new kayak models out there. To me, weight may be most important followed with balance.

    What brand do you have?

That water hole in Moab was not stupid.
The mud hole on last year's Pipeline trip where we turned around, attempting that would of been stupid.

Did I miss the pics of these 'fish'? :blahblah:
That reminded me I snapped my Berkeley rod in the back of the truck.
Need a new rod and solution for storing them in the back.
Your setup is sweet on the ceiling.

1st start this morning it didn't want to go.
    Running smooth now.
Did Alf breathe in some water through the intake?

It's pretty common with Toyotas. Whenever you disconnect sensors or battery terminal that the first startup, it will automatically shut back down. I'm not sure of their justification for security or systems protection on this, but pretty much everything that says Toyota will behave like this. If it only does it once, you probably have nothing to worry about

Haha! I caught a Redfish, but I didn't get a picture because it wasn't big, and the wind was blowing me into the mangroves. I lost one at the boat. And, I caught some mangrove snapper, but those are like the rock-bass of the saltwater fishing community. :D

Incidentally, one of my rods had an accident yesterday. Picked up a Shimano GLF rod today as a replacement.

Are your rods mostly 2-piece? I kept mine in a customized Yakima SkyBox when I had the Taco. It wasn't very appealing, though.

    Also!

What do you guys think? Wheel speed sensor?

    20240310_154133.jpg

Possibly related or unrelated, the dash doesn't always display my selected gear. That's been on and off for awhile, though. Every time I start to worry, it stops doing it. In fact, it did it today, but I got it to display the gear by "jiggling" the shifter. Meanwhile, the other dash lights were not affected.

Anyone have any ideas? @CygnusX191 ?

Pay no mind to the tire pressure light. That's been on for awhile. I need to drop the spare and top it off.

    Since you asked.
I don't know 4runners but 1st thought is something loose in the shifter itself or the linkage down to the trans.
    :notsure:

What was the issue that took time to show up? Asking for the general edification of the group. I got stuck in a pretty deep puddle for a good 10 minutes, and when I went to clean up I was surprised at what took in that muddy silty water, and what did not. Still not sure if I got everything cleaned out though.

So, what you’re saying is that a 4runner is the best solution for rod transport? :D

So what you’re saying is that a 4th gen Taco is the solution to the lights. ;)

Just kidding. I bet it’s the neutral safety switch, and the rest of the dash lights are caused by the switch failure. I think there were some recent threads on 4runners that came up with really similar symptoms. I’m betting it’s an easy fix.

I was thinking about the neutral safety switch also.

I'll probably just trade it in on Tuesday.

Oh wait, there are none available right now. There are 10,000 ready but on hold for a quality control issue. Or so I've heard.

CV axle seal was leaking. Mechanic said he found sand. He asked how did sand get in there. I showed him a picture and he said, O'ya that will do it. Picture is October in the calendar.
It was not leaking back in November when I rotated the tires.
