Who lives somewhere with good riding in mid April? Spontaneous birthday trip we're looking to plan but April is tough to plan for guaranteed goodness besides the desert.

@Dr. Doom Says Is Tampa only jump lines? One of the riders in our group isn't super pumped about jumpy boys

No feedback for your question here haha.

I’ll be in Chattanooga the first weekend in April. Prolly make a trip to Walden’s ridge if you’re around/interested in joining. Could be a terrible idea being Spring Break :notsure:

I would've recommended the desert. Arizona is always good that time of year. But if you're looking to remain out East, the weather is always iffy in April. Could be great, could be suck.

No thats just what gets the juices flowing around here.

Balm Boyette is natural Florida singletrack and is 5 minutes from Alafia (where alot of the jumps are) - they do close Ridgline when we get heavy rains though - which is a cardio heavy punchy up/down trail. Alafia still has a good amount of single track that isnt jumps something like 10-12 miles.

Loyce Harpe Park (Carter Rd Trails) is also a decent park and is in Lakeland about 30 minutes from Alafia/Boyette.

Come across to the east coast of FL and a little north. Graham Swamp is challenging, Riverbend Park and Mt. Dora a bit less but still fun. There are a bunch of other less intense trails around as well. About 2.5 hours from Alafia.

    not enough.
Northern Utah in mid april is extremely variable. you might have some good riding, some bad riding. depends on how quickly it warms up. the upper mountain stuff is not even all that open for riding. southern utah/st george/moab are your best bets for consistent conditions.

Gonna be sunny and 65* in Bellingham on Saturday, so I'm headed up there.

April is an iffy month in WA. It could be magical and rad hero dirt, or it could be dumping rain for a week straight. Upside is you can still ride, it'll just be a muddy mess.

That’s awesome. One of those moments, like, wtf is wrong?! Oooohhh, I’m an idiot…:bananadead:

Last summer I had my brake hose pop off mid descent. Like, POP. Fluid everywhere.
Got home, realized I never properly tightened the barb on…
As Jin said, northern is super variable. Nothing up high will be gtg.
I’d head to Grand Junction. Tons of awesome riding down there and April is perfect.

Rode Junction this weekend and it was perfect!

The new trail at 18 Road sounds fun, too, and might make that area a little less boring.

Also, for anyone riding junktown, I'd say it's worth the hour drive to check out the new Grand Hogback trail system in Rifle (currently under seasonal closure until 4/15).

Those guys did an awesome job out there, and are building more.

Got out for a ride yesterday and used my 1up rack with my alucab topper on for the first time.

Is there a guide for how far out the 1up can/should go? As long as I can get that locking pin in it should be fine right? I normally push it in as close to my bumper as it can get, but with the topper on, my handlebars are too wide and press against it. It wasn't a problem yesterday and I backed it out after my ride for my drive home.

Pictures after the ride with it backed out a bit.

I pull my 1up rack as far out as that goofy little security pin will let me. I get maybe 1.5" between handle bar end and camper door. The bike can rock a bit in the 1up so that amount of space works well.

I bought this on black friday last year. It is a great deal. BUT...look at the fine print. The cranks are m8120, which are for a 55mm chainline. The m8100 are 52mm (boost) and the m8130 are 56.5 (superboost). fYI - Jensen will not allow you to trade the cranks.

I had a set of cranks to use (m8100). I bought this kit and sold the m8120 cranks for $100.

This is my first time swapping out DT Swiss EXP ratchets. All I can say is that i dearly miss the old simple ratchet system. What a pain!
