Nah, I've got gears firmly in my crosshairs right now.

By the way...if I'm gonna buy a tiregate, what did I buy that rack off your fer mister?

Also, I wanna retain the use of my bed extender. Same reason I didn't get a tiregate on the bumper.

Also, your MOM'S a....ah nevermind, it's played out.

K, so was discussing rear axle and gear shit with the guys over on TTORA when one of them pointed this out, and I hadn't noticed before:

The motherfucking carrier is bent all to hell.

This diff may not be rebuildable.

    Shit.

Shit I *wish* I'd just chewed the pinion.

On the upside, if the blown one is a total loss, I'll be regearing sooner.

...the carrier is extremely bent. Notice the enormous bend in it right below where the ring gear is fractured.

I'm in the process of determining whether these carriers can be disassembled (and thus if it's salvagable) or if they're casted at factory with the internals already in place, in which case it's fucked.

I'm primarily using them as an info source here. I'm still going back and forth between:

    - Handling the regear myself.
    - Turnkey job for $$.
    - Ordering the parts and pulling the diffs myself, having a driveline shop set up the diffs.

Kind of like option #3, just because I then have a warranty on workmanship. #1 is appealing too, but I would have to spend a bit more time reading up.

If I didn't already have a functional locker setup back there, that's exactly what I would've done.

If the built diff shits, fuck it, time to convert the rear to a beefier axle. Course then I'm on the hook for an ARB setup.

Only hiccup I see with option #3 is shop may not warranty the diff if they don't plop 'em back in the truck themselves, which pretty much turns it into #2.
