    **Update posted in thread**

Well, this is new to me.

I recently purchased a new set of tires and added an alignment. This is after I had my shocks rebuilt last week too so anything is a culprit.

When I picked the truck up and took a look around the truck, I noticed the steering knuckle is making contact on the tires.

I brought it back to Les Schwab and they are unsure of a fix other than shaving off that little "nub" which I was actually fine with.

I'm now racking my brain on why all of a sudden this is an issue.

285/70/17, Stage 1 Icon, same tire size I've had for years with SPC uca's and no spacers.

Maybe I’m wrong, may be the same size tire but could be slightly bigger. Some tires vary in slight differences in size with the same dimensions. Almost like a pair of shoes, some fit slightly bigger or smaller lol!

Im not sure where I read it, my 315 DURATRACS is apparently the smaller “35” compared to other manufacturers.

Alignment isn't going to affect the relationship between the tire and the top of the knuckle. You're looking at wheel offset and tire width. All these tires are a little different even if they're technically the same size

Even if you grind it off that little nub the tire is likely still going to make contact when it flexes going around corners and stuff

You need some spacers or different offset wheels.

Even though you've had previous 285s fit without rubbing, it's a stretch to expect that size to fit every time

    As said above...*Update* incoming! Ha!

Yes. After looking at the specs, the tires are in fact bigger.

It's odd to many here. The tread is just enough to catch, so, I have to go with the Backcountry AT2's and after a test fit. They do fit better.

In the past I have owned the Toyo RT's and swapped for the 60k mile Open Ranges.

I know the AT2's are a great tire too, but I did love those Open Ranges.

You are absolutely right and I guess I knew that, but never really experienced it. I posted the differences below. Thanks!

You're totally right. I guessed that and should have checked the true sizing before.
