Rough Country Bull bar, Redrock side steps, Raxial Axiom black housing halogen headlights, LED black housing tail lights, K&N oiled filters, black rear bumper, TVD red emblem inlays, black powder coated 16” five spoke sr5 rims, Falken Wildpeak at3w 265/70R16 tires, spidertrax 1.25” wheel spacers, torch sway bar drop kit, g2 red epoxy painted calipers, tinted cab glass, hood protector, Trifecta folding Toneau cover, Argent raptor grill w/ leds, led fog lights, Bilstien 4600 shocks, Rigid d-series midnight edition spots, Redline hood struts
    Out with the strut spacers….

Today me and a friend installed the Eibach Pro-Truck Stage 2 coilovers and rear reservoir shocks on my 09. It was not absolutely necessary for the new coilovers but I also put a set of OME upper control arms on too. Beefy is the word that I’d use to describe them.

I ran the spacers for about 3 months. The truck had the stance I was looking for, but she went down the road like a boat. Felt every bump/hole, had nose dip on full stop and the body roll on corners was just too much live with.

I’ve only driven about 25-30 miles on the new coilovers (and she goes for an alignment this week), but the ride is far better. Truck feels more ‘grounded’, no more nose diving and the body roll is non-existent. You get what you pay for….. initial measurements had me gaining an additional inch plus more than the spacers - I’ll recheck the height in a few days after things settle a bit.

Got the last u-joint and drive shaft flange in. It’s a relief not seeing my truck on jacks and drive-able again :). I have a ball joint coming in for the driver side which will be put on this coming weekend:)

Addressing my suspension and driveline issues.
    • Replaced my Total Chaos uniballs. The inner lining was getting worn, so I was getting knocking sounds. Purchased the removal tool and the work was done very quickly. Issue resolved.
    • Replaced my CV axle needle bearing and axle seal. Experienced some light groaning, but nothing major. Work to replace went surprisingly smooth and quick. Issue resolved.

For the uniballs, you can see the inner lining getting torn up, even while lubing with the dry tri lube frequently. I could've driven like this for a while longer though.

For the needle bearing, the original looked and felt to be in great condition. I think I was just looking for an excuse to do a project and learn something new. Tie rod press tool and axle seal removal tool made otherwise hard work, very fast and easy.

Next up, work on my ICON RXT leaf packs. Change from Option 2 to Option 1, grease and install tubing liners, and replace all bushings with poly. :bananadead:

Changed out my $8 PCV valve today since I think it still had the original one in. It barely rattled so it was definitely not functioning properly. What a difference it makes in idling and how smooth as butter the truck runs now.
