I mean, I'd take a free detail with a set of tires, there'd be grease on the outside too that would require the truck be buffed, waxed and the bill sent to Discount haha

New sway bar links and bushings went in yesterday along with OEM LBJs! Impressed myself with how quickly I got that all done.

On a related and back on topic note I just did the first oil change since the turbo install. I collected a sample for Blackstone to see what they think.

Yes, Would like to see a pic of the before and after. What was done with the shroud inside the housing that I think I recall is in the housing?

Very interesting mod possibility for our 2008 Highlander

    Thanks,

    Mike

Just ordered two of these, so excited to not have my doors swing shut all the time. One of those little quality of life things you don’t know how irritating it is until the door won’t stay the heck open. Anything special I need to know about installing these? I’ve never done them before
Also ordered the windshield washer nozzles from a Honda odyssey, we going full spray

I greased my driveshaft for probably the first time ever in this truck’s life today. I was getting what felt like axle wrap but now it’s gone! However, while I was greasing the two zerks closest to the rear diff, the slip yoke(?) moved about an inch before old grease started coming out. I’ve driven it around the block, slow speeds, floored it, and cruised at regular city road speed and nothing bad has happened. I want to be sure I’m good to drive on the highway before tomorrow. I looked this up and I potentially overgreased it. Thoughts?

I did the rebuild kit from oversea, it didn't last. I need to replace them with a set of these. Thank you for sharing.

Cleaned what appeared to be a mouse nest out of my frame rail.

Also a bunch of sand out of my crossmember... probably still hanging on from Death Valley two years ago.

I think you may have over greased it, but am not sure. I know that if it is over greased it can inhibit the slip yoke from properly compressing when braking, and can blow out the rear transfer case seal. I've always just added 5-6 pumps until the old grease just starts comes out, but do so at every oil change

I thought the highest gear ratio was 4.56? Maybe I'm wrong.

Factory diffs stop at 4.56 (also available, 4.30, 4.10, and some in the 3.x range that I never paid attention to). Aftermarket you can get 4.88 and 5.29.

Drove my ‘96 150k 3RZ to work today and coworker drove his ‘88 160k 22RE for a meet and greet. Threatened to do a truck pull in the grass.

My wife wrecked it. Car in front of her slammed on the brakes and she couldn't stop in time.

Most important thing is she is OK and so it the driver of the other car. The other driver had to slam on their brakes because the car in front of them stopped for no reason in the middle of an intersection. One or two cars ahead of them hit each other but took off! I know it will be my wife's fault due to her being the one hitting from behind, but man this sucks!

The truck is still driveable but the front bumper support is dented in half and pushed back towards the radiator. Slight dent on the top of the hood where the front end nose-dived while trying to stop. The front bumper and grill will need replaced as well.

I plan to take it in for an estimate tomorrow and just crossing my fingers it won't be totaled.
