Finally collected a bunch of stuff over the past couple weeks to refresh the new to me Kubota L245. Going to start chipping away at items on the list tonight and hopefully get it all knocked out before the ground dries.

2 new front tires and tubes
    Engine Oil
    Transmission/hydraulic oil
    Oil Filter
    Fuel Filter
    Transmission Filter
    Coolant flush
4 new steering tie rod ends
    LED headlight bulbs
    Injector Cleaner
Red-n-Tacky grease for all the zerks
And fresh fuel to clean out the tank and re-prime the fuel filter with
Also going to replace the dated and not bright incandescent rear light with a pair of LED amber pods I had as ditch lights on my Tacoma that I am no longer using.

I then bought some 5/8 steel rod and a steel sleeve that I am going to weld up a passenger side extendable tie rod and tap the end. The passenger side tie rod is a tie rod end with a extension as one unit and is 300ish to replace the tie rod so I am going to weld up a new rod and make it so the tie rod end is replaceable for the future. All in all it cost me $150 with the new tie rod end and I should be able to drill/weld/tap it all out myself.

I also picked up a 3 point boom pole from TSC. I have a bunch of trees and piles of old trees that need picked apart and burned in smaller piles Ill use the pole with.

Gas tank is empty, it cleaned up good though. He told me he paid $2,500 for it new in 2016 and he’d like to pocket $1,200 for it. That leaves me some room to make a little on it.

It had a touch of gas in it, I pulled it a few times and it fired up. Sounds like a 2 stroke motorcycle. I'm not man enough to handle it for long, I got some wood I'm gonna play with it in before putting it up for sale. You know, to make sure it works like it should..............

The 880 was the only saw I had to start on the ground as the 41" bar & the heft of the damn thing made it unwieldy otherwise on drop starts.
Didn't keep mine for long either, migrated to ported 660s,661s & 395s

Was the porting worth it on your 395? I am tempted to do it on mine

Yes, but that was back in the days of $275 plus shipping instead of the $400+ now (plus shipping)IMG_1037.jpg
    Ported 395 & 385
    But I suppose after spending $50-55 K on a new Tacoma, $400 isn't much
Better mid range & top range
Even opening the muffler & reducing the squish will make for good improvements

    Always big wood laying around

my father built competion saws, and raced them. porting was just the start until he built his own custom pipes. i have 10 1st place trophys of his i need to hang. reed valves, compression tricks, and freezing temp race fuel. he even build his own flow bench to test. he was pretty rad. most were super modified 066 and 044 mags. he would build a chain link by link hand filed 12/1000 thinner then tefloned. jewlers rouge for mirror/ razor sharp. he was my idol and main man.

cant remember if it was an up,down, up but think it was on a 21" log. 2.23 seconds. super impresive. being full time logger helped.

Been on the B7100 last couple days for a few hours each day. Smoothing out the old barn footprint. P.I.A. because of all the junk buried in the ground. I only have a scrap blade so there's that too. Getting better just need to work on the corners where springs are. Maybe ready for grass seed and straw by next week.

The Kioti I worked on for my buddy is doing good, he bought an aerator for it and said he told his kids to get stuff out of the yard. Is that a first down or a fumble?
