Yessir! I've been working on this truck for over a year and it hasn't moved. Just been collecting parts and installing. I only got it started up for the first time a couple of days ago

I know the feeling. Don't we all. Looks like you're actually putting the parts on though instead piling up like some of us hah. Keep it up though. Reminds me I need to get moving on some installs

Yeah I've been reading this thread for quite some years and eventually found myself actively acquiring particular parts for relatively good deals. Once I got my hands on a used SC, it was pretty much down into the rabbit hole for me lol. Definitely rewarding to see my research and long days of working on it come into fruition

I'm curious if 2GR parts would fit 1GR.

Way to go man. Definitely rewarding but I keep asking where is the end? This train doesn't stop!!! I keep seeing good things from boosted bros and I want.

Quick question about belts, is anyone running a Gates Fleetrunner? Just curious if anyone has seen a real world difference between that and an RPM belt or others.

Boost, armor, lights, big tires, no savings.
I have only ran the Fleetrunner belts after swapping out the original. Cutting ribs with a blade in vice and pulling the belt across has worked great.
The RPM belts have a tighter tolerance for tensioners and appears to need consideration.

Thanks, that’s what I’ve read about the rpm belts. It finally warmed up here in NJ, so I’m just starting my tensioner/billdacat8 wrap mod/new long studs/and rpm belt swap now.

When I start putting it back together, I’ll pay special attention to how much travel each way is left in the tensioner after everything is installed.

Yeah after I have some space to move it I'm going to weld on my Chevy 63 spring swap with the ruff stuff kit and start working on the LT goodies. I've already gusseted the spindles, shocks, marlin crawler lca and a few other things. Also have a twin stick transfer case waiting to go in.

I have one installed but never actually driven on it so can't comment. Definitely more stout than the micro v's I used to run.

I’m getting there, this sure as hell beats doing demo in my attic!

Just noticed this, new studs look quite a bit different from what came off, original is on right. Hopefully this won’t be a problem

No it will not be a problem. The redesign was to help with problems people were having.

Gotcha, I figured the shorter inside threads help strengthen the stud, I was just a little worried when I saw the overall length was shorter, and the outside threads went in further. I’m just finishing up getting the new studs in, then that’s it for the day, back to family stuff

I installed new studs as well. Wasnt an issue. the upgraded lower idler pulley #2 from SCOL was also revised to increase strength.

Thanks, I just went to the SCOL website and couldn’t find it. Do you have a link? I’m all for upgrading now that it’s apart

Less threads due to breakages happening in the threaded section of the original part. Original part had more threads than needed.
