Good points RearView like you said its PVE who cares about nerfs.

And back to chargers I'll usually call in my mortar, but then they target it and destroy it like nothing.

Like WTF.....lol either way though fun game.

 

i used the railgun a bit and tbh never liked it but im also an odd one out here i prefer the dmr and the anti material rifle. the shotgun can be fun but ive always haaated shotguns in games (mainly for the pvp side of things). i do believe the 10 bile titans was a glitch when the did the nerf setup thou because since then i havent heard of many people complaining about that. i have seen more show up as of late which ive enjoyed the chaos that comes with it. the main weapons in the game (like primary guns) seem to be mainly for the low level enemies and thats about it. then it seems they want you to heavily focus on the strats and heavy weapons so that it becomes a sense of oh shit when is that cool down done!

on the point of buffing i dont see the point in bringing up the damage on weapons like lets say the first rifle you get in the game. since its suppose to be a more basic weapon... so making it stronger would honestly be kinda dumb...

tbh im not sure what level im on lmao im just a lvl 7 and i get dragged around on missions with lvl 30s and up so im just normally along for the ride when i play with them!
i also dont find the nerfs they did bad... they took a weapon that could easily kill something and make it a challenge ive seen people still one hit a titan if you hit in the right spot... so a weak point my guess is they will do that further on in the game with larger boss style enemies where you have to either
A. shoot the ever living shit out of it.
B. find the weak point and try and not get got by all the others (so someone kiting the enemies the best they can)
C. drop a gun on their head like @Chunk does lmao

so i know im missing a few years lol i made my account years ago but then stopped playing any pc games when i was in highschool and focused mainly on xbox and playstation lost the account and made this one lol

Ok , 2 hours until I’m home . School me on how do I do single player if nobody is on and what might be a good load out for me? I was just reading that if you try to play stealth and you’re within sight of something that’s low on the ground. I can’t remember the name snark maybe? That it’s designed to smell you then attack .

I played and still play solo a lot, you just start a game like normal; change your online settings for people joining

 

I just hit 3 years. Total noob.

Up to level 4/5 dives we do pretty well with the orbital rail cannon since it auto targets, but if there's more than one you're screwed. Orbital laser is super effective too, it slows them down and sets them on fire, and it should have some burn time left to kill other enemies. Only problem with them is you only have 3 uses per round so you want to be selective. I try to coordinate with teammates and call out before throwing so we alternate and don't waste two stratagems on one charger.

Your posts are on point. Agree with 100% of what you laid out in terms of nerfs and buffs. I'm not sure who got their feelings hurt because players were relying heavily on a particular weapon and having fun killing lots of bugs and bots with it, but I'm really glad they focused on nerfing that into oblivion instead fixing things like server capacity, career stats not showing up, or the completely missing faction that should have been in the base game. If people are smoking through level 10 helldives with a weapon because its OP, drop a new enemy that is resistant to that weapon's strength, or make a crazy armored version of an existing enemy. Give me mission modifiers, level 20 helldives. Make it harder that way. Then, give us new stratagems that change and break the game. Then give us stronger enemies again. Don't nerf my shit. That's lazy development.

There's really not much new here from HD1 other than the view. Same basic weapons, same stratagems, same enemies. Weapon and stratagem progression seem more simplified. Don't get me wrong, I adored HD1, and I adore this refresh because it has many of the same things I loved, but they could kick it up a notch.

Like you said, rearviewmirror, once you get to level 50 (and I would argue maybe even before that) there's really no incentive to keep going other than the fight for democracy. The bugs and the bots will keep coming. Maybe someday the illuminates.

I want to get my missions done, hit all the objectives, collect as many samples as we can, without attracting too much attention, without dying a lot, and have the whole team extract.

But its also fun getting into crazy battles with lots of enemies, launching all kinds of stratagems, and sacrificing your fellow helldivers while laughing your ass off about it, with 500 kills at the end of the match. I want to try more of the two person weapons you can reload for each other. The game is definitely about teamwork.
