Got into CAD myself over a year ago, but for the CNC shit I do

Pretty much self-taught, but you need to have the desire to learn it. If you're computer literate though it'll come easy as I notice it's the boomers that have the most trouble with it; those are the dudes I do Zoom sessions with for quick cash.

Self taught is a great way to go with so many things. Reading is helpful, but nothing more useful than making your brain actually work on the subject.

Best part about a neighbor that owns a computer store?

Freebies from time to time; he dropped off another 1TB ssd



Got some 8tb in storage on the main pc, and 2tb on each of the old pcs

 

New torch head arrived; some almost 2 years of heavy use and covered under warranty just cause one of the owners saw my asking about it





If anyone wants to know what the inside of a blowback style plasma torch looks like



The two wires trailing down can be bypassed, to remedy the issue I have on my current torch

It prevents the torch from being able to fire if the consumables aren't properly attached, specifically the shield cup as it closes the circuit for a "ready to fire" signal



Well, one of the pins connected to that wire is stuck in the "down" position and even though it's a quick fix...I'll take a new torch head with new consumables any day of the week
