For those of you with sherpas I’m debating between the sport and normal. Any recommendations? Mostly have a Yakima skybox on top and small other things

What are your thoughts on the bed stiffeners? I like their products. Any interference with factory bed mat? TIA

Tent/awning install, alignment, increased preload up front. Have bigger tires to go no next since it's lifted now. Just need to make a decision on wheels.

I'm not very knowledgeable so maybe someone else can chime in, but I bought bed stiffeners primarily for keeping the bed from flexing and potentially damaging it offroad. I don't have plans to get a bed cap or bed rack, so it might be over kill, but I figure it's a cheap enough investment to prevent headaches down the line.

In terms of their bed stiffener, I swayed towards RCI just because I have used their products before and I have RCI skids/sliders waiting to be installed, so figure why not. On top of it, I loved how slim the design is vs some others out there that are a bit bulkier. Still wanted access to the bed and not worry it would get hung up on the bed stiffener. That said, it seems like you can't go wrong with the other options on the market since it really is just a metal bracket.

I don't have a factory bed mat, but on their website though, they do say it is compatible with the OEM bed mat. https://rcimetalworks.com/product/bed-stiffeners-05-23-tacoma/

I haven't installed my Total Chaos but I did "FIT CHECK" them and these are the photos.

I have a bed mat and they just layover the top with subtle flat differences.

Remember...I have not installed these yet...just took photo to see how they'd look.

Just trying to make the truck more enjoyable to drive.
After a week of owning it, I really didn’t like how it drove stock (I’ve owned 1st and 2nd gen tacomas and a few 3rd gen 4Runners).

I tried the normal and sport KDmax tunes which helped the daily driving quite a bit, but it still had the lag and the throttle was jumpy/ jerky/ unpredictable. Also, still didn’t shift smooth and gear hunted in the hills. My wife hated driving it.

The OTT tune feels more refined- no lag, throttle is more predictable and easier to feather, yet feels like there is more power as you step on the gas, shifting is smoother, and it’s not gear hunting in the hills. Overall, its fun to drive and I don’t have to “try” to drive smooth.

just my thoughts and what I experienced.

I just had mine tuned last week. I did OTT tune with light throttle map and mild with the ect button. I can't imagine a scenario where it would be more drivable with the medium or spicy throttle. The mild is super responsive and light is perfect for daily driving.

Thanks for the info. I've got it narrowed down to the RCI or Total Chaos. Have only heard good things about both. I guess it's just personal preference. Thanks

That bendy-tab on the Total Chaos is a design patent, not functional. Pay more attention to the number and shape of the tie-down points, my opinion, then decide.

Getting a new head unit in a few days and figured it's get a front spotter cam installed and wires run while I wait.

Have a aftermarket pro grill and I installed it right under the front font/above sensor.

For anyone else interested in the same I can confirm it has not interfered with the front sensor in this position, adaptive cruise and lane warning still working normally.

Why haven’t you installed them yet? It’s a pretty easy install.

Check out Greenlane Offroad. They offer theirs in stainless. Cost a few bucks more, but worth the additional expense IMO.

Nice. Is that stock height or is it lifted?
