I can understand the concept of balancing the plate while on your back confined under the truck, just have not experienced the fun-and-games.

Thanks for that information/confirmation. All I need now is steel/plastic ramps and a torque wrench, and $400+tax. I do not like Amazon so would need a different alternate source.

he probably bought a cheap fake off of Ebay.

I saw one and asked the seller if it was genuine Toyota, they said yes, I asked why so cheap and why from China, they repeated it was Toyota.

I showed them their own pics from their listing, and they still claimed authentic, just tape on letters myself! WOW!

    I asked which number 1 or 6?

    Cheap fakes sellers lied about.

I had a good experience with BAM also, but I went for the combined shipping. They didn't charge me MI sales tax so that was nice too.

Glad I’m not the only one… took mine off this weekend to install my lift, and stripped the threads on one of the front threads. Also stripped the threads on the E break line mount near the rear. Why the freak is it so easy to strip these things? Shitty aluminum construction in some parts of the truck. Kind of annoying, but it is what it is I guess. At least it’s easy to retap or just put a nut on the backside.

my old dirt bike racing buddy was also a bike mechanic, he would throw shit at me if he saw me starting a nut or bolt with anything except my hands  he would also bitch me out whenever I over torqued something and stripped or broke it, he knew he was the one that would end up fixing it :D

    Learned my lesson I guess…
that’s probably a sure fire way to avoid most stripped threads… that and not over torquing/making sure your torque wrenches are “exercised” before blindly going at it learn something new everyday

He was helping me one night as we were prepping our bikes for the race that weekend, I put a new top end on my CR250 and was tightening down the head bracket mount bolts, he was holding the wrench and I was torquing it by hand, he started screaming "THAT'S ENOUGH!" a split second later I snapped the bolt and his knuckles went careening into the frame, blood everywhere :D he wasn't happy with me :nuclear:

I got mine on by myself with the truck on the ground. Took 35 mins and used two short stacks of 2×4 wood scrap to hold it up and the truck's bottle jack to get the rear up to fasten the 2 back bolts.

Not a fun job but not a hard one either.

On a lift it would take 5 mins

in the pic he sent......it absolutely looks bent.
top edge appears to be rounded, not a straight line.
    sucks......

    swapped for clean, scoopless hood
On my install, the front bolts would not seat, ones that came in the kit were too long. Checking One of these threads that i can’t find again now, assured me nothing was wrongly positioned

anyways this trim was my solution:

That doesn’t look like the TRD skid plate. Did you buy an aftermarket knock-off?
