new Diff has a MASSIVE leak from pinion seal :annoyed:

found an 8.4 full axle for $350 and a set of Chevy 63s for $175...

I need to scan the Spindle so I can judge if the BJ flip I want to do up front will work out or not.

I'm gonna replace the pinion seal since it will take 4-8 weeks before I can get to the 8.4. no wheeling in the meantime :(

I am pretty confused about the failure I experienced tho, almost like the heat treat was off on the pinion.

Looking back I built the diffs in January '21.

It can happen for sure, Yukon has had bad batches before, so has Nitro.... might get your new set cryo'd if you have the time.

That sucks dude. I bought my 4.56 diff with an ARB in it already and so far it's been a good diff. I run it on a quality regulator and it has behaved. I don't like the engage/disengage on forward and reverse changes with the Harrop/Eaton, but I like the magnetic actuator. 6 of 1 half dozen of the other IMO
