They get you every which way they can. I just found out Smokey mountain National park requires parking passes now.

I think some of the newer fees for parking, and the required reservations at parks, are down to an attempt to control the overcrowding that's been going on the last few years.

Hard to beat beach camping! I'm actually headed to Cape Lookout next weekend for my anniversary. Depending on when this fall I'd try make it out there

Yes, you'll need to get an ORV permit to drive on the beach

I tell you what, my genius astounds even me sometimes! Woke up yesterday morning to a cold house, the heat has stopped working. Decided to look at it after work. Lots of thoughts running through my head yesterday. Mainly that the unit is probably at least 18 years old. Googled the issue, reading a few things it could be, watched some videos etc. So I had a general idea on how this gas pack worked. Hell I've replaced parts on this thing before.

So got my tools, took the panel off and just in general, checking everything over. Looking for anything obvious. The big expensive fix? I jiggled a wire and it started working.
Obviously, I removed the offending connector from the vacuum switch, cleaned the contact really well and reattached the wire.

That would have at least cost $500 if you had somebody look at it.

Debadged, decals removed ARE V series Camper Shell, RallyArmor mud flaps I’m old, my truck is boring
Pulled the trigger on some OEM electronic shocks for the Sequoia. Debated deleting the air ride but it’s so convenient when the wife and her parents load it down for road trips. It was about $1500 for front and rear shocks… Platinum problems. Fingers crossed the coil springs are still good to go. When the airbags and compressor go out I’ll convert it.

What's the over/under on the Charleston landfill taking an entire truck bed (minus the bedsides)

I would just take it to a scrap yard .
I don't think the land fills around here would take it

I'm not sure the scrap yards would take it without a title.

Needs to be cut into chunks that 1 person can handle...that's how they do it up north anyways.

With body parts the normally do need a title unless it's the whole vehicle

I'm taking the bedsides off, so I'll just tell them it's on of those bed protector inserts. Since it's not metal, they may buy it. We'll see!

Thanks! Been a great little work/commute truck for the last year. Fun and easy to work on, and it's a Daihatsu, so still in the Toyota family

Have to at least attempt it before calling the professionals. Unless it involves crawling under my house. I don't do that anymore.
