Where is the dislike button? It is the same as long as you have only ever had gravy and biscuits from McDonald's I guess. Especially if you are going to brown sausage up anyway to put in the gravy, it's no more work to make gravy from scratch, and it's 673% better

 

flour, cornstarch, powdered oil, a bunch of chemical anti clumpers, a bit of garlic. #1 ingredient is cornstarch.

Just say no. I know how to make a roux.

 

Well, do a blind A/B with someone from the south VS. that gruyere whatever concoction and report back. ;-)

Strong gravy mix hate. Once you cover it in Crystal Hot sauce you can't tell the difference.

I've never seen so many self-proclaimed foodies defend gravy mix so vehemently.

 

Guilty. It can be doctored up really easily. And it's great for hangovers!

 

If I used that stuff instead of making my own (just as easy to make to me) my grandma would probably haunt me for the rest of my life and likely throw cast iron skillets at me.

 

Maybe at a Luby's.... pretty sure its a felony to pass off that gravy as homemade in south

Wow. The indignation is fierce. Milk thickened with flower is milk thickened with flower. Nobody said it's home made. And I guarantee 90% of y'all self proclaimed "foodies" couldn't tell the difference. But keep competing for the gravy Michelin star.

I'm sure we'll get some photos of greasy biscuits and gravy casserole with gruyere next. Barf.
