Been about 10 years since I sold a car.
My 3G/2017 Tacoma Cement Gray TRD Pro is nothing short of a masterpiece build. She's not being parted out, one in effort required, two in deconstucting art.
But alas, a new GX550 is in my card deck...

I figure here is probably not ideal, most here already have a Tacoma.
I'm curious folks feedback on best places/approaches to sell your rig, that is a turnkey overlander that has been meticulously built.

Gotta find the right person that has the money. It's why non modded rides, [especially with low miles] generate so much more interest. You need to find the one guy who want's a set-up'' almost exactly like yours and has plenty of cash to put down or pay outright.

Start by pricing it appropriately. It’s not worth anything close to what you’re probably thinking if you’re like most sellers of modded trucks. You might be able to find the one buyer willing to pay that if you wait long enough but that might be a long time. Plan on maybe 50% of the value of the mods installed with no value added for what you spent on installation costs. Remember that you’re selling a seven year old mass produced basic pickup truck and not some rare sports car.

Removing and selling easy stuff (bumpers that don’t require cutting, roof racks, bed racks, tents, wheels, etc) is an easy way to get more money and sell the truck faster.

    All common sense stuff.
I'm disinclined to part out. I can take my time an keep her around till the right buyer comes along. This is more of a question of what's the "autotrader" of overland rigs these days?
Here's modestly recent pic, I'm not much of a photowhore.
I'm still crafting my mod list, it's basically all of them...

Minus the front bumper that looks like half a Saturday and a six pack of beer to have a mostly stock truck to sell.

The buy sell trade page on TW.

Your truck is nice, however it’s still fairly stock with preferential accessories. You’d probably get more back from your investments if you parted with the accessories separately.

This is one of the most important components.
As mentioned you would need to find the one or two buyers that want it already built the way you did, AND have the funds to back that dream up. Banks won't loan over book, and most everyone finances these days. Furth moor, most people with that kind of cash, got there for a reason,,, and are smart with it, so there's that component too.
Just keep listing it here and there, and be prepared to wait weeks, months, or even more than a year to fetch any kind of price over book.

Cars and Bids seems to do well with modified stuff. https://carsandbids.com/

For what its worth, I have sold 2 extensively modified cars on Cragslist. It takes time, and you really have to weed out alot of lowballers and shit talkers, but it can be done.

Interested in seeing the mod list too. Truck does look nice, but as previously mentioned, I don’t think it would take long to get it back to stock, but that’s just me looking at the photos.

    Good luck on your sale!

Ya I’ve 30 mins on the mod list and not even to the inside. It’s coming.

“All of them” was a bit of a joke, but yes, all it’s missing is rear steel bumper, solar, air lockers, and, motor build. My mod taste was NOT to overdo it. OEM enhanced…

I love the thing, just with a family of 4 and thier cars, my bikes and my Sunday fast car, I can’t keep another machine around

Be honest, can you take great pictures? If not hire somebody. Great pictures are the key to success at online auctions.

And detail the heck out of the truck before the pictures. Lots of pictures.

Let's put it this way. Would you purchase a fully furnished house complete with salmon accent walls and velvet paintings?

I mean, someone will. But your potential market is much smaller.

    Good luck man.
