I'm already working on our "Ride around PA" Iron Butt route for May. Looks like about 1,100 miles "on the clock". I just saw they have a special Easter weekend ride and I have off for Good Friday so I've been tossing that around.

I dont even see that challenge on the IBA website.

Just found an interesting challenge, Prudhoe Bay to Key West in less than 30 days. All of these are crazy to me.

That 100/100 was something Chris came up with and might never be made a regular ride. I do know the rider who several years ago sort of started that whole insanity with 40k in 40 days, Steve Diedrich. While he was wrapping that up another rider was already working on a 45/45 just to move the bar.

I know the only female rider to do the Key West to Prudhoe Bay and return, Kate Johnson. To make it even more impressive is that she is a type 1 diabetic and wears an insulin pump. She is a certifiable bad ass is every sense of the word. She gotten away from riding over the last few years and now is an avid golfer. She's even already managed a hole in one on a regulation course.

I need more vacation time. I'd really like to try the 50 hour coast to coast or the 48 states in 10 day rides.

As a Type 1 myself....that's impressive. I'd like to see how she kept her supplies.

No, it's Atlantic Ocean to Pacific Ocean or the other direction in under 50 hours. I think most riders use Jacksonville, Florida and San Diego, California as their points. There's something of a tradition to go to the beaches and collect a small vial of water and sand at each end. There is also a 100 hour version doing the ride as a round trip. My friend Chris Comly did that one on his Sportster.

I have a copy of Rider magazine at home where Kate was on the cover and there was an article about her. I'll try to locate it and see. I remember one complaint she had was a lack of bananas at hotels in the mornings once she got up into Canada.

Nice been meaning to text you, hoping we could meet up for a ride and want to see what you’ve planned so far. What’s the Easter weekend ride? I need to get the Super duke back together, had to replace the leaking radiator which apparently is a common issue on these bikes

Agreed, we need to meet up before the actual "big ride" and go over stuff. I need to stop at AAA so we can have paper maps, I know, boomer here. Sometimes it's nice to have a bigger picture that a GPS screen if you run into road closures or something like that.

    Easter rides.

    https://ironbutt.com/themerides/easter/

My house to the post office in Egg Harbor, NJ shows as 154 miles one way. I could likely do the gold level but I keep complicating it with dumb shit. Like taking the Cape May ferry over to Lewes, DE then south across the Chesapeake Tunnel/Bridge to VA Beach. Like I really need to make it tougher than it has to.....

I eat a banana every single day to stave off muscle cramps. Have done this for years.
