Good to know none of the above is so high. Really nothing else that is worrying

As a dude looking to buy a 3rd gen (relatively) soon this is a great poll. Thanks @TacoBuffet !

Sometimes reading a forum for months on end can skew my perception, since many posts are about issues. But obviously if you don't have an issue you wouldn't post so its nice to see the poll results from everyone.

Is that what that is? In my 2022, when i drive, i hear a noise from what it seems like the top corner of the door near the B Pillar. I checked the gasketing and checked for dust and debris, and it all looks normal.

I clicked like 3 or 4 things on the list. All happened in the first 30k miles or so. Last 55k have been fine other than self inflicted stuff, like lifts and tire issues.

3rd gen is a good truck, especially compared to anything in its class. Not perfect, but what is?

For how much practice manufactures have at building vehicles, would think they could get these things perfect. But they aren’t…as it always has been pick your poison.

Really comes down to money and how much you’re willing to spend. Brand vs Brand, warranty vs fixing it yourself, new vs. used, etc…..Wealthy buddy of mine once told me, there are no problems, only expenses.

I've had zero issues with my 3nd gen base model SR 2.7 in the two years I've owned it. I've put 31,000 trouble-free miles on it. I've previously owned two 1st gen Tacomas in the past and have found my 3rd gen to be every bit as reliable and trouble free as the 1st gen.

I joined TW right before I bought my current truck and do find it funny how many people on this forum seem to dislike the actual truck they own. I found it odd, but strangely refreshing. I appreciate the critical eye with which folks view these trucks. It's better than blind loyalty....

Right!? Amazing Toyota sells any of these trucks at all for all the hate. The hate between generations is really fucking odd, I don’t get it.

Loved all my past Toyotas, my 3rd Gen is my favorite. My only real complaint is I wished it got better gas mileage, but oh well as they say…it is what it is.

While I will concede my ‘23 is new enough that I would be surprised to have anything go wrong short of the current recall alert, my only initial dislikes were solved with the installation of an OTT tune. This Toyota is as advertised … and expected.

I was going to bump up from my 2016 to a 2023 but backed out. glad it did ,seems the same issues exist on all years.

I think it depends. A recall to swap out rust prone frames is more of an issue than a typical recall. That issue can reoccur in the replacement frame. So, it's a long-term area of concern.

The upcoming recall to fix the rear end isn't something I'd consider an issue. It's just something they want to fix/correct. Long term it's not a problem.

I think if the area/item that was recalled is going to need to be dealt with and/or monitored in the future, it's an issue.

Definitely interesting to see how many small issues. It doesn’t surprise me as they make a ton of Tacomas. Bound to be a few bad eggs here and there.

The hate comes from people that think a truck should ride and act like a car. They also beat the hell out of it, and wine about doing a oil change at 5000 miles on a truck that’s north of 35K dollars. Not to mention complain about the 278 HP out of a V6 Normally aspirated engine. Ridiculous. The truck is a good looking well made vehicle . So far along with all my other Toyota s , problem free.
