You guys who put tips on must have cut a little lower than me. You can't see my exhuast at all unless you get under the bumper, so no need for a tip....

True enough, I guess I don't look in my wheel well that often to have it bother me.

I did think about painting the whole exhaust with high temp black paint though...

When you cut it back like that does it sound any different without putting a tip on?

Why did you even cut it off?
I cut mine to re-route for my lift - and had another pipe fabbed to vent exhaust out from under the truck.

I lost track thousands of dollars ago.

Looks good man did it change the sound adding the tip or do you still have a stock muffler?

because the stock placement of the pipe sucks cause it is right next to the leaf springs and is really low and offroading you can possibly interfere with flexing depending on your rear suspension set up like lift shackles and stuff and also if you roll over a big rock you can slam down onto the pipe and jam it up into your bedside

atleast thats why i chopped mine and some people just relocate it.. either way is justifiable

It gives a cleaner look as you can't see the exhaust at all from behind the truck. It also prevents the tailpipe from getting hung up on things when wheeling.

I chopped mine off over the rear axle too. main reason was because was to keep it from getting hung up while offroad. The added plus is that it made the sound better with the aero turbine muffler. gave it a beefier sound.

I was planning on re routing mine with a straight pipe out the back, but I want to get a new muffler in first. Not sure yet though, I do like the clean look of not having a tailpipe sticking out..

Does it really make the exhaust sound better with it cut back with an aftermarket muffler?
