Anyone participate in the Frame Recall while not living in a cold weather state?

They can and will replace your frame in any state if you have a hole bigger than 10mm and your truck is less than 12 years old. Make sure to read the warranty enhancement yourself so you can show the dealer that you do indeed qualify. (The dealer may not be familiar and you'll have to be able to show them explicitly that you meet the criteria). ZH6 is the warranty enhancement program that you'll want to reference. Also consider driving to a big city dealer that has probably done it before.

 

Anyone have ANY luck with getting ZH6 covered since is it technically categorized as a:
CSP (Customer Support Program) warranty which has a timeline?

bought a new to me ‘09 Taco 4dr 4x4 and have opened a case with Toyota brand engagement center, documenting at local dealership with repair estimate and photo documentation to have Toyota help with cost of repairs.

(I know I’m out of the ZH6 extended timeline extension of 2021 and past the 12yr manufacture/use clause, hunting down an elephant for sure….but am hopeful)
-worst case, I’ve learned a lot about frame and Toyota history-

the biggest kicker, vehicle was sold to dealer, dealer did an after purchase inspection, more than likely realized the frame issue, wholesaled to auction immediately.

 

I got my 09 done back in the summer of 2021, made it by a month. Unless you find a really good dealer that can somehow get it covered I think your outta luck.

Been on the phone with 'Toyota Brand Engagement' and doing everything I can to collect all necessary information.

May be a question for another post but was just curious:

if we don’t have the $ for getting this done out of pocket, what are the thoughts of cleaning and treating rust as best as possible, but then using a frame cap kit with reinforced steel welded to fresh metal?
