Helldivers 2

Going to install Helldivers in another computer, just to see if the friends list issue still exists or not.

Bummer. But I do wonder what might be left behind when you uninstall the game on PC.

What was weird when I re-installed was that it had to download a language pack, which it didn't do on the 1st install. And I'm not entirely sure that is what fixed my issues, but it's been fine for me since.

I think they still have some server issues that are probably contributing. I'm sure it's a distributed back end to handle the load, and if you are somehow getting locked into a server that isn't properly synchronizing with the others, things are going to be weird. It was like my client was successfully sending info and others could see me online, but no matter what methods we tried, I could not join others. On PS5 you can join through the voice chat, someone can send you an invite outside the game, or they can send you an invite inside the game. None of that worked.

I'm almost level 30 now and haven't even played with any of y'all except 2 people

Maybe I'll hit 50 by the time they fix this shit

 

Did you check your parental settings?

I get all all your details. I get the little pop up on steam when you log into HD, it tells me who you're fighting, how many in your crew.

When I'm in game it says the same. I just click on your name and rain chaos on your dive.

 

I need to verify parental settings; is that in-game or Steam? Has to be in-game because I play other games with friends on Steam.

I'll check in a few minutes but thanks. I never considered something like that. But everything you described is exactly what I used to see before the patch.

Something I've never manually messed with, yet now that I switched it to Public I can see all my Steam friends in-game.

Glad you got it figured out though. Weird that I could see you and it sounds like others couldn't. Other than me, has anyone else seen you, tried to join, or been able to join you lately from TW?

GT did; it was a shitshow as 2 were randoms but he thinks they were my friends so he never joined again

Working on the Major Order with randoms sucks; the bug density is nuts on level 4 and 3 is easy but that's when you get the morons coming in

"Don't get near that, go watch another battery" as I'm at one battery silo trying to get everyone to do them at the same time

the first time i was having issues joining any game until i realized it was my VPN.

I ran a couple silos with Randos… had to stop and do it solo, they were constantly fucking up the silos and having to restart!

 

i play with my bandmates where it's mostly us accidentally on purpose killing each other and my sweaty try-hard friends who try to maximize every mission.
i need an in-between group, which i think is where TW will come to the rescue.

I played with a group on the game Planetside, we were just like a military group. Extremely tactical and there wasn’t any goofing off. I kinda miss those days and those fights would go into 5 and 6 hours on weekends. Right before we stopped playing we were like 1 of the top teams for the New Conglomerate.
