Ok…… I sure as hell wouldn’t buy a truck with a turbo if it was on the diesel. Reliability just isn’t there with a small turbo engines. I wouldn’t buy another one of those POS trucks for pennines on the dollar.

And yes, if you get one of the bad ones, the sky is falling.

Guess I just got a POS built on Friday. Used to be a die hard Ford guy. The f150 with the eco boost drove me away. Lots of issues…….

no I meant the "new" Tacoma motor. It's new to the Tacoma but has been used in other Toyota/Lexus vehicles since 21. I'm with you on the ecoboost stuff. And talking diesels, I wouldn't really want one unless the EGR was deleted. That's typically one (of many) downfalls.

This is the exact same way 2nd generation owners talk about the 3rd gen. The first couple of years may have a few issues but they will get them sorted out. Performance expectations are pretty damn high for the truck. I will say my brother has an E350 with the 4cyl turbo and I’m amazed every time I drive that car at how much power it has.

Another car motor that has better low-end torque?

The new trans will make a difference. My experience with towing was there was too big a gap between 3rd and 4th.
