I'm back, dealing with the dinks on 66, haha. Not really, I ride a bus in to work every day. Sure beats traffic. We need to meet up for a beer sometime.

I'll hit you up next time I'm heading down your way...always looking for a reason to visit a brewery in Rednecksburg.

Going to put my truck on the track at Richmond for $20. Charity event, looks a group is getting together on the RVA Toyota Trucks group on FB.

@Kennedyusmc just started a thread about selling his. I don't have details on his build, but looks similar to what you posted with some mods. And he's closer. May be worth a look.

That thread was a bit cringy with some of the posts, but overall a good read. I will say that reading it was just what I needed to convince me that if I sell my truck, it will go back to stock and likely be traded in.

I'm 50/50 on it. Anyone who expects to make money on a current vehicle over purchase price doesn't know much about new vehicle purchases. I'm watching an Inferno Offroad on FB fully kitted out with not cheap stuff. He listed it at 48k, dropped it $37k last week. Dual battery, solar, bed rack and tent, rack has the built in kitchen, and a ton more stuff. I know I won't make money on my truck. I knew that buying it, but never intended to sell. I think if the truck looks stock and not built to offroad or overland, I'd take my chances selling as is. But, I don't anticipate selling.

Agreed, and if I were to try and sell mine as it sits and recoup a fraction of what I paid in mods, my starting price would still be below what I actually paid for the truck when new. I don't have any "cheap" mods on my truck either, but I am also realistic enough to understand that I would still only be able to hope to get a portion of that sunk cost back and/or find the right buyer. At the end of the day, it is just something that I don't want to deal with and the article kind of drove that home for me.

If (big IF) I do end up selling I know I can get close to KBB by returning it to stock (only missing wheels/tires), and I actually enjoy working on my truck so its no big deal to remove things. Plus, I'm sure some of the parts I remove that aren't necessarily specific to the Tacoma will come in handy later on with whatever vehicle I end up getting in the future.

Speaking of said truck, when do we get to see it now that it back on the mainland?

I'm going to try to make it to the next meet up if we have one again...I haven't done anything new to it since I got back from the island.

Edit: besides bolting my Pro Eagle jack to the bed, but that definitely isn't a mod...lol.

My working weekends will kill any trail rides this summer, but I'm all in for a brewery or distillery after work. We had a meet up at Bear Chase Brewery last fall that was good. Good food (and beer) and great view up on the mountain.

Yep, I remember that one and was sad to miss it. I was out of town on a work trip. We should do a spring meet up at another brewery soon.

I got to show up to one of these meetups, instead of just randomly replying to the thread. haha.

Also anyone hit Port City or Alsin lately? I did the Port City anniversary beer last time I was there. That one hit.

Buddy and I road tripped up to Guinness two weeks back. They had an old fashion beer. It was way too smooth for a 10%...

Have not been to any of those. Mostly I just go to the ones local to me when I rarely get the chance (Powers, Four J's, etc.). Been wanting to check out Lost Barrel in Middleburg but haven't made it up that way yet.

That would work for me in an after work scenario. It's kind of on the way home.

One more out in Northern Loudon I want to get to are Dirt Farm Brewey. B Chord Brewery is also out there, but they have been "Temporarily Closed" for quite a while.

I know the weekend thing all too well. 6-7 years now of working them. Damn sure stops the fun/play time, hence why I don’t get out anymore.

I'm hoping it ends this year. I will do something different next year if the retirement plans get extended.
