I see they are running a "sale" with Bauer, buy a battery get a "free" tool. thinking about getting the grease gun for my tool. One of my hand gun broke and this could be a good excuse to upgrade. Anyone have experience with it?

ill be the negative guy lol.....Ive had a different brand ones (sunex?)....mine are 3/8 drive too. Used them maybe 10 times when I first got them. Found I just go for my XL wrenches if space is really that tight.

But...Im never against having more tools! Never know when that one random tool will do the job others cant!

this worked on my girls VW. took 3 times of sparying with windex then baking in the sun but worked out amazing old flaky tint peeled off like it was brand new.

I'm going get one today but don't know if i should go with the better deal or if one brand is a better brand....

all the specs look to be the same, same lift height, weight is only 1lb different. im leaning towards the cheaper one unless someone here has a reason not to

Idk for certain, but I think I remember reading somewhere that certain components were different, like piston seals/casters/something else maybe, but for the monthly weekend warrior garage mechanic, I think either is probably completely fine. I opted for Daytona because the color matched the rest of my stuff. FWIW, there's a tire shop I pass on my daily commute that uses a combination of both Pittsburg and Daytona jacks religiously, so I assume they're about the same quality. This tire shop is sketchy though - they jack up cars on 3-4 Pittsburg/Daytona jacks with the person sitting in the car, no jack stands, and just slap a wheel on while the person is suspended in the air. I'm sure plenty of places that fix hundreds of flat tires a day do that, but it makes me cringe every time I drive by and see 3 cars in the air on the side of the road without a single jack stand.

Although sketchy, its definitely impressive! They really do move pretty quickly. Its at the corner of a red-light intersection, so I often times just sit there watching while stopped. They've definitely jacked up a car on 3 jacks, had the donut off, back in the trunk, and walking the bad wheel/tire in the shop for dismount while I've been stopped at the light before. They're pretty quick lol. All that to say, these people use both brands in a very busy setting every single day, in place of an actual vehicle lift, so they must be at least fairly reliable. I'm sure they rebuild them ever so often, and that may be an advantage of one of the other (not sure), so that may be worth looking up if you think you may ever need to service it.

Just bought voltmeter to test my capacitor. Funny thing the $5 one came with batteries and the $20 you have to provide your own.

EDIT: I stand corrected. There are 2 AAA batteries in the package I just didn't see them. :(

I just grabbed these and they are a GAME CHANGER!! Also make sure that you grab a 22MM or 7/8" Ratcheting Wrench to use with them.

Planning to pick up a cordless 1/2” impact wrench as I’m about to redo my suspension.

Whats the overall consensus for Bauer vs Hercules in terms of tier/quality?

Looks like this Hercules 20V 1/2” can be had for ~$100 with the current bundle deal. They also just sent out a 15% off no exclusions flier/coupon. Wasn’t sure if it was worth looking at other options vs the one linked above?

Honestly, my answer is "Go with what system you have now". I use all Makita cordless to keep batteries simple. for the price, I would get the Hercules and run with it - if I had not committed to one system years ago. Unless you are using it daily for professional use.

CBI sliders, ADS extend travel with compression adjuster coil overs, 9” Bilstein 5125 rear shocks, Icon Tubular UCA, Alcan custom leafs, All Pro Apex bumper and skids, NWTI rear diy bumper, 295/70/17 Cooper St Maxxs and nitro 4.88s.
I’d go with Hercules, also I might consider the larger 1/2” unit. I know it’s 3x the cost but if you’re only planning on buying 1 then that opens a lot more doors for using that. The smaller one you linked is a little light for suspension work..from my experience. I run Milwaukee 3/8 mid torque and 1/2 high torque impacts
