Looks good. It’s an uphill battle here in the north east. My 2004 was solid in the rear where I see most rot, but mine went up front.

Yeah. Uphill battle for sure. In addition to the frame repair, the front gas tank x-member, and the body mount, I’m also going to pull the differential and do the backing plates.

A non-rust question: any recommendations on rear shackles/bushings. I have the OME Dakar AAL with 881 springs. I want to replace the factory bushings and use greasable shackles. Should I just go with the OME ones?

Has anyone used ebay repair plates like these?

Need to fix frame sides (I'm sure once cleaned, the damage is bigger)

That's more of a frame brace. I would recommend cutting all of that out and using Safety Caps. I did this on my 96 Tacoma a couple years back. I also used 11 gauge sheetmetal to restore the frame before welding the safety cap back on. Mine started off as two little pin holes and you can see how much I cut out to get to good metal. That's plan B :)
Hoping to get away with the side repairs for now, with a major 'bed off' project later in summer.
