There is no single chassis amp that does that kind of power.

If you are OK with a bit less power, a good choice may be an Audison LRX 5.1, or a Memphis Big Belle.

    Otherwise, run 2 amps.

one amp does not put out two separate power levels. one amp takes out one power level and divides it out equally among the channels.

If i were you, run two separate amps. it gives you extra juice for your subs and then lower amount of power for your other speakers. thats what i'm running in my truck. it works really well! plus, you get the extra adjustability by separating them. :)

    What are you talking about?:confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused::confused:

There are multiple amps that put out "separate power levels". Heck, check the ones I posted above. Or look at any other 5 channel, and most of the 6 channels amps on the market.

Not true. Heck, I'm looking at an amp that is class a/b for the four channel portion, and class D for the separate sub channel.

    Did you look these up?
You can get quite a bit of power, but wanting 1.5K is the killer.

You also do not mention at what impedance, but is it safe to assume 1ohm?

lol okay just trying to help out but like stated before... yes, there are amps that are both 4 channels and mono combined. Either way its a tacoma truck not and escalade.

there are plenty of amps out there that have the ability to run your subs and your components at different levels, but most of the pros do run two sometimes more than two sep. amps its more or less a safety feature plus when your not trying to split one amp between subs and components your going to get a better sound quality. my advice depending on your subs would be to go with a hifonics brutus amp for the subs heres the specs on it and technical name
    BRE1600.1D
    1 x 600 @ 4 OHMS, 1 x 1200 @ 2 OHMS, 1 x 1600 @ 1 OHM D-Class

and i would go ahead and pair that up with a brutus a/b multi channel for components
    BRE100.2
    2 x 100 @ 4 OHMS, 2 x 200 @ 2 OHMS, 1 x 400 @ 4 OHMS

I want to know what subs you think you're going to put into a tacoma that can handle 1500 watts. Sounds like some pie in the sky stuff to me. No room for what you are describing.

Then 300 Watts for mids and highs? That ain't shit. I hope you mean 150x2 with no rear channel because 75x4 is not enough, much less enough for your sub box that replaced your rear seat.

What safety issue is there with a single chassis amp?

What sound quality differences are there with a single chassis amp?

Please understand I have ran both single and multiple amp setups. It was never for safety or Essque...

Agreed. Unless you are pulling the rear seats, or taking up the whole back area of an Access Cab, what are you running?

This is far too bold of a statement to make without a lot more information. There are too many variables to even begin to make this a true statement. Efficiency alone should keep this from being discussed. a 3db increase in speaker efficiency is like doubling the power

Also keep in mind that the type of setup plays a huge roll, as passive crossovers suck a lot of power up. The subs he is using could require quite a bit of power to keep up with his front stage, even if it is 75x4. Something with a low efficiency, in a small box, would require a lot of power.

I have not very efficient pair of IDQ 10" subs, sealed, ina small box, and 500W. Its fairly well matched to my 100X4 with Focal components and Coax (89 and 91 db efficient... though, strangely the less efficient components are actually louder).

He is going to have to run at least 3 13.5" TW5 subs to need 1500 Watts. 91db efficient components at 75 watts up front wont keep up. His description of Rainbows makes me think he will run some 150W max components meaning 150x2, which makes more sense.

Still, I think you (the OP) only need 1000W and 2 13TW5 speakers. You will be quite happy with that for the small size you have available in a Tacoma and 150W per channel for Some Rainbow Germaniums or similar would be great, though I think you should put some coax in the rear for rear fill and rear passenger enjoyment. Rear speakers in a double cab dont mess up your sound stage as the tweeters are heavily muted, being blocked by the seats.

The fact you can spend less on your sub amp and save spening $300 for extra sub should offset the cost of getting a 4 channel amp and rear coax.

well if hes planning on putting some subs in there that need a 1500 watt amo then the safety risks for him would be an amp over heating blowing fuses or shorting something out you midigate the risk of this by running multiple amps correctly matched with the type and number of subs/components your gonna run off them

No, sorry, does not make sense to me. I may be missing your point. If heat is the issue then a proper install is the solution. He will not be using that much power for very long, and the heat sink should take care of that. A proper install with proper wire gauge should mitigate the fuse blowing issue. If he tries to run to small of a wire then there may be an issue, but again, a proper install gets it.

Having too much power on tap is never an issue, single chassis or not. I would probably say a dual amp install is a hair more "risky", as you have to install a distribution block, multiple fuses and power/ground wires.
