What is Sam Hill is that?

I have replaced the EGR valve, the vacuum modulator, and the VSV.
Not sure what a back pressure transducer is.

    Stumped

Delete EGR is what I did, l because it’s dumb system anyways. basically no difference in emissions since I deleted and I still make the cut in CO emissions tests fwiw

What are you chasing. The back pressure transducer essentially uses engine vacuum to control the EGR position.

Chasing a P0401. EGR Insuff flow. It said back pressure transducer.
EGR valve has been changed out last week, as well as the Vac Modulator & the VSV 2 years ago.
Taking off the egr pipe tomm to see if clogged.
Wondering if this EGR back pressure transducer is another part or the Vac Modulator.

    She runs solid.

I'd check all the passages for the EGR and make sure they're free-flowing. Maybe if I remember I can look up and see how it monitors the EGR flow. I wonder If you have a bad AFR sensor.

deleting it will keep the CEL on so if your gonna delete it might as well leave it alone if it runs good.

That code is often set by the egr temp sensor being out of range. I’d check with a meter before doing anything else

Ill see if I can find the spec

IF you do all stop and go traffic.....you can benefit from egr delete.

If you run alot of hwy miles......egr delete will make the engine run hotter.....just a fact....

6 cyl are less affected than the 4 bangers, which are prone to head gasket failures/ and cracks forming between the valves.....

Egr is a cooling mechanism.....its not a green thing....

IF the coolant loss is intermittent....that indictive of a crack in the head.

The egr /temp ports going into the intake plenum really can get carboned up after 140K or so.....

EGR dilutes the mixture with exhaust and helps reduce NOx emissions, a main component of smog. It absolutely is a "green thing"

But yes it does also slightly reduce cylinder temps

When they got into variable valve timing systems they found they could achieve the same result by overlapping valve actuation at certain rpms so the traditional egr system went away

Apply vacuum to the pintle valve at idle and you should be able to stall the motor. If you can't then you likely have clogged passages

Not if you put a 10k ohm resistor in the plug for the egr….

In theory, yes the egr supposed to help with emissions, however my actual emissions readings for pre and post EGR delete, actually show my emissions being slightly better with no egr. Don’t ask me how, but that’s what happened for me.

my egr hose kept braking for some reason and after replacing it once, I was not about to do that eye hose again. Biggest pain in my butt.

You have to get block plates for where the egr hose connects to your exhaust manifold and where the egr valve connects up by your TB. I made my own plates by just cutting off and welding up the original egr connection plates.

I think LCEngineering has block plates for the 5vzfe, and for the 3rz.

I have the 3.4, but I’m pretty sure the same thing applies for the 3rz for egr delete.

Removing the egr will throw a code, and to eliminate the code I bought a 10k ohm resistor and took the harness that normally plugs into to the egr valve, and stuck the end of the resistor into the 2 pins locations on the harness. Then cleared the code and boom.

Worn engine mounts can cause excessive movement and cause that steel egr tube to break.

That mid strap on the tube can put it in a bind.....its best not to even use that.

Did you eliminate the EGR valve too and all those other various valves and tubes?
Going to be crossing this bridge in summer for emissions. I did remove both the tube and EGR valve, so will using the 10 ohm resistor cover the emissions with the EGR AND TUBE removed?
