Bilstein 5100 (with possible rear lift)

I have a 2019 TRD Sport dbl cab long bed. I plan to do 5100s front and rear. I am thinking about the 4th perch at the front (around maybe 1.5" lift) with oem coils. I am looking for a level or slight rake with rear higher. So with that said, around a 1" rear block would be in my range. From my searching, they don't make smaller than 1" blocks, correct? I know blocks are viewed as not the best, but this is just my daily driver, with highway driving daily for work.

Also, I plan to put on 275/70/r17 Wildpeaks with probably a 17x8 or 8.5, 0 offset wheel. Would the belief be that I can fit that tire/wheel setup without rubbing? Or very minimal if any? I believe that should be the case but slightly unsure due to wheel width.
if anyone has pics of this setup, or similar (maybe AAL for rear) please throw some up, i'd love to see yours!

2018 Sport, I did the 4th setting and a 1 inch rear block and it had a nice rake, went to 285s and up to the 5th setting. Still a 1 inch block and now it has a ever so slight rake. I like it better on the 5th setting. Did 5 years on the 4th and about a year on the 5th as I like the 5th setting, no difference in ride and I'm still very happy with the 5100s.

Would you guess in your case, when you had the 4th setting, would've a 1/2" block been level at worst? Or maybe still a little rake? I'm debating that possible situation

 

one inch block is perfect for either setting.

 

ToyTec offers this as a kit. 5100’s all around with the 1” block option when you check out. That’s my plan.

 

I did this kit on my off road and it was okay. If you can really splurge for 6100s in front might be nicer ride for daily. In my opinion I’d go as high priced as you can comfortable afford.

 

Toyota makes a 1/2" block that slips in rather than Toytec's shim, which requires disassembling the leaf. Toyota dealers carry and sell them.

 

I have 5100s with one inch rear blocks, with fronts set to provide natural rake stance. 265/75/16s, rides just right.

 

Looks good! Any problem with downsizing to 16” wheels on the sport? I’ve seen some comments saying it can be a challenge with the front break calipers

 

That's the same lift I would like to get at some point. What setting are the 5100s at in the front? Also, nice wheels. I am mounting my Anthracite FJ TRD wheels on Monday.

 

Does the sport have different brakes than the OR?

 

I do not believe so. I’ve just seen people saying depending on the wheel, it might be tight. And some have said shops have told them 16” won’t fit, etc. So I was just curious his experience of downsizing to 16”. Because I’ve considered it.

 

Truck had these 16 inch wheels when I bought it with 20k miles, came off FJ Cruiser. Truck was the dealer sales managers lease, so the dealer did the original lift with spacers. The rims must have the correct offset, no rubbing or interference noticed. I then had the front spacer lifts originally installed, replaced with 5100s, and downsized tires from 285s to 265s when I needed new. I think shop used the third clip from the bottom but I did not install, I had a shop do it, and they left the 1 inch blocks in the rear untouched. I think I can see two empty clip slots beneath strut. When I went to pick the truck up after installing 5100s, they claimed level, but nose looked too high so I had them take it back in and lower the front one clip notch. About an inch drop back to front. I think it turned out great.

 

I have 5100 4th position and 1 inch block in the rear running 275/70-17. Only buzz the front mud flaps from time to time when turning and hit a bump.

Anyways.... short box here, with 2" 5100s in the front, and 1" block in the rear, and the Taco is perfectly level.

 

Go put 100 -200 lbs in the bed and check

 

He’s not lying its sad how shitty these leafs are in a TRUCK. I know it’s a light duty midsize but really. When I first put on my shell 200-250lbs completely stock nothing else in the bed I lost all my rake and was sagging in the rear. My wife’s outback can just about handle as much weight in the trunk as my taco did stock without sagging. I have icon leafs now, if you only haul costco groceries and some beach chairs throw a block. If you actually use your truck you need to upgrade.
