yep. and line was silk and there was no neoprene so if you had to wade then your nuggets were getting an icy dunk.

    'Evening, gang.

I was defeated by a 2007 fooking ferd focus this afternoon. The lady friend asked if I could help, the money light turned on in her car the other day. Advanced Auto parts scanned it and found a common code that points to the thermostat. I looked at the car on Thursday and watched a few YT videos posted by shop mechanics. I felt confident enough to tackle it. 4 hours in and I still couldn't access one the 3 bolts holding the plastic housing to the cylinder head. It's buried underneath of the intake manifold, with enough access space for a 6 year old girl to get a hand into. My 245# shop ape meat grabbers sure as hell weren't fitting. I couldn't see how to get at the damn thing, even if I removed the radiator it still would have been impossible to get to one of the bolts. I literally caught myself getting into the red zone and saying "f this..., not my problem" and tightening the 2 bolts that I was able to get at and telling her that I couldn't get it done. That was a hard thing for me to do.

Fishing rod chat- can anyone help me understand how a $4K fishing rod would work better then, say a $100 one from Bass Pro/ Cabela's? I honestly have absolutely no idea/knowledge of fly fishing, and almost none of "regular" fishing. It's been 35+ years since I froze my kielbasa off in waders in Washington State catching Sock Eye.

Fords seem to be that way...like hte design engineer had some sort of vendeta against mechanics and wanted to do everything possible to make life hard. right @Tacoma Mike ?
and rods... better materials, lightweight, custom made, minimal effort to fling a few feathers around

After a while you can tell the difference in them and that’s when the trouble starts! When I first started back fly fishing when I turned 50 I bought a cabelas combo in a 4w as a birthday gift to myself. I had problems with hook sets it was a slow action and would throw dries really well but it’s limber all the way. My Winston also a 4w throws dries as well or better but the lower sections have more backbone. So you can land a small dry fly on the surface like a snowflake and set the hook as well. I guess you could say more thought and engineering goes into the more expensive rods. But they still don’t do everything I have a 3w rod for nymphing and a 5w for streamers.

Absolutely but I only leave the truck with what I believe will work that day. I saw a guy the other day carrying two rods on the trail

And............................Back. Rally was cool. Never do it again. Was a "less" opportunity to take pics so the T shirt, hat and pin were not even payment for the work. LOL
Putting up with drunks from Michigan with a Cow Bell falling into and over the yellow tape I just put up was not fun.
I'll post pics after the editing.
    Y'all have fun.
