Well today was new appliance day. Delivery guys where awesome. The used fore arm forklifts and carried everything up and down the stairs. Youth! I hooked everything up, new stainless braided supply lines for the washer. And I God a brush to clean out the vent pipe for the dryer, it was pretty bad, lol. Used some pipe dope that was rated for gas lines on the dryer and tested the fittings with soapy water, no bubbles. Everything works nice. The washer is really heavy. And I reversed the door swing on the dryer.

Why is it so hard to change the oil? Sorry about the battery.

The wallet is about 4 years old and is my daily carry. Try to get them on sale if you can. The wallet is a quality build that should last a long time. I used to use the Port wallet, but it was just a little too small to carry the information I may need all the time. Nothing is in my wallet that I do not need. The only card in the wallet that does not come out is a RFID blocking card. Damn thieves are just too bold these days.

That is one nice set-up, and the chicken looks great.

Good morning. The wine tasting was fun, but I ate too much so there was no dinner last night. Today the wife and son are headed out to an irish pub/restaurant. I am going to stay home. I will smoke some Shis K Bobs and some Cheese Its. Put a few veggies on the smoker too.

Having the same battery issues. Looking at going AGM.

    Oh my what a pain!

    This is great!

Another beautiful day today according to NOAA. Roads are clear, but snow still covers all the grass areas. An excellent soaking in snow!
A bit of patio shoveling to do today, then messing around in the garage. Grandbabe heading to the mountains with friend’s family for spring break, so wifey and I will be taking life easy for a few days. NICE!
Have a great day everyone! It’s a beauty!

Good Morning Everyone, have a Great Day.
I went to see my 11 yr old GS this weekend. If I had half as much energy. I probably wouldn't have retired. Kidding, the kid could live in the water. I spent 3 hours throwing a football Friday night and 6 hours yesterday. He's got good arm and technique. Rotator cuff surgeries on both arms have left a noticeable decline in my reaction time. Took a shot to the face when I was slightly distracted.by a small kid behind me.. had a blast.

Most of Detroit is in ruins. Entire city blocks have now been razed. Nothing is being built, only torn down. It's really sad to see what once where great big beautiful houses let go and being torn down. There are industrial areas in the same condition, giant all red brick buildings, vacant, stripped of all salvageable metals and being torn down.
I'm in the suburbs of Detroit and it hasn't hit here yet and probably wont until after I'm dead and gone. My neighborhood is still nice, good people my age. We all look out for each other. It's the way neighborhoods used to be. I would love a place in the country but I. Getting to damn old to move and set up shop again and prices are just ridiculous now. I dont want to go into major debt at nearly 64 years of age, I'm in payoff mode! I'm comfortable and can live out my days where I am. 10 years ago I went through a divorce and I didnt even have a home so I feel blessed to have what I do.

I've heard that Detroit is returning some neighborhoods to farm land. Also giving homes to people if they agree to fix them up and live in them. Not sure how wide spread that kind of thing is, or maybe just tried and failed? Or ongoing? Sounds like a reasonably good deal for young people or people with enough money to live independent of a job.

Not sure of the exact models off the top of my head, but they are mechanical timers and dials, not electronic. They where not cheap and made in the usa, very expensive actually. But I got a nice profit sharing check from work so I basicly call them free! I could have gotten another set for about a 3rd of the cost but they wouldn't have the reputation that speed queen does. At least I know that if and when the time comes for a repair I'll be able to get parts for them.

I have watched some of the neighborhoods in Detroit get taken over by the Mexicans and they will completely redo a home with the help of their family and relatives. They have to put up a 6' fence all around the property to help prevent all their materials being stolen while they ae working on the homes. They take pride in what they do, it's beautiful to watch the transformation of a dilapidated home on the verge of being torn down to being brought back to its once formal glory. These are immigrants that have come to this country legally and have green cards or have been naturalized as citizens. They are bringing the neighborhoods back and running the rif raf out.
And yes there is some farming going on in the large vacant areas. Some of the areas that have all the homes that where burned down and razed are now tall grass fields and theres more pheasants there than in the country.
Many parts of Detroit are still very ugly and unsafe to be in. But some of it is very slowly changing. The current mayor has done so much to get the abandoned homes torn down and that has made a huge difference.
