The transition from our road to the next is about a 4 foot difference.

It’s a road from the Knights Templar…. have you not been keeping up on your Curse of Oak Island? Look for ancient treasure, or… just some wood at the end of it.

All I'm looking for here is shade. :bananadead:

This is the unit beside us, identical to ours. Nice space up top with a small apartment below. We're currently lounging on the rooftop patio. I just went downstairs to get a battery pack for my tablet. The AC is set at 81F and it feels like a freezer inside! IMG_20240317_144849.jpg

We're heading back to the San Jose area tomorrow. It felt hot when we first arrived, but it won't when we get there tomorrow. :D

So I haven't been feeling great for the better part of the last week and was looking forward to a relaxing Sunday with nothing to do so I could mabey recuperate a bit.

Until I got a phone call from my niece. She was on her way to Watertown (2 hours away) and made it 30 minutes south of Fargo and got a flat.

Keep in mind that she hasn't replaced those lug bolts yet.

I go armed with assorted tools and am hoping for the best. I get to her car on the side of the interstate and investigate. Front drivers side is dead flat. I hammer the socket onto a lug and give it a go with the breaker bar.

    20240317_194813.jpg

Well, that's not going to work. So I put those tools away and get the tire plug kit out. Found the hole, got it plugged and went to get the air compressor out of the back of my wife's Highlander. As soon as the lift gate was opened, out flew the Aldi bags she had back there. I probably should have mentioned - it was 20 degrees with about a 40 MPH wind so the windchill was 3. Fantastic weather to be out in when you're not feeling good.

The air compressor didn't have enough air in it to fill the tire so I carried it back to the Highlander, which thankfully has a 120V, 1500w receptacle in the back. Finally got the tire inflated and we let it sit for a few minutes to make sure it was going to hold. In the mean time, I looked over at the median of the interstate and the Aldi bags hadn't moved. Figured I might as well go and retrieve them. Got everything put away and followed her to the next exit to turn around. I got a few texts over the next 90 minutes or so that the pressure was holding.

That girl needs new tires and those damn lugs fixed. But at least I'm two for two for the plugs.
