Royal oak is pretty good in my experience.

The royal oak Lowe’s brand is total junk. Can’t even remember the name but my ash bin weighed almost as much as the charcoal I put into the bbq after a cook. Hardly any heat too! Also super cheap so you get what you pay for.

Hopefully Costco will deliver. The Kingsford pro stuff was pretty good IMO.

What a day... or technically two days, considering how long a pork shoulder takes. I ran out of my supply of frozen pulled pork, so I cooked another one today. I was also in the mood for some homemade chili. A perfect combination of the bone from the pulled pork shoulder simmering in my chili with some added fresh pulled pork. Amazing combination.

    Rubbing my meat.

So probably close to $8/lb, assuming this is about 2.xx lbs., which is pretty much going rate for trimmed tri-tip here in SoCal. I prefer to buy mine untrimmed for closer to $5/lb.

They might source them from multiple suppliers, so in Region A, it's form Supplier A, and Region B is supplier B, etc.

That's because nobody uses that cut around here, so it's not stocked and distributed.

PS Steak Tips is a New England thing. I didn't know that until a couple years ago. It's the same idea. Shaw's might stock them around here, but down in TX they'd wonder WTF you're smoking when you ask for "steak tips".

I think steak tips is a Massachusetts thing. Never see them on a menu in CT or at the meat counter. Were they a thing In Maine?

I LOVE that kind of stuff...we were watching Bluey and they called it "Bubblah"

I've found tri-tip at the supercenter walmart ....also the only place now that has a full packer brisket...I'm always looking for a marked down one but it never happens.

I went out looking for corned beef yesterday after work. Nothing :( didn't even have any discount meat Monday deals going on. Shenanigans.

But turns out the save a lot does have 1-2lb sections of flats and points as a regular. So that's cool, will be getting those time to time.
