Seeking opinions on what tail lights to change to on my black 2020 Off Road TRD? My OEM left one broke in -45C on the road & I do not know how.

    Thanks everyone!

best bet is the factory tails. check ebay for used take-off's from salvage yards for the same quality at a discount.

I’d convert to the all red ones with black side piece that came in 2018-2019 off-roads. OEM only, aftermarket are junk.

I have the Meso taillights I got from @bcmbcmbcm and let me tell you, I'm in love with those tails. I'll post a picture in a little while, currently focused on my bourbon.

Definitely these. My 2019 Sport had this kind. And I want to say they started using this style on the 2020+ SR5 and SR models?

When I got my 2020 Sport I immediately bought a set to get rid of the hideous chrome/altezza lights Toyota started using on 2020+ TRD models.

Yeah I think you’re right that 2020+ base models switched to the red with black side piece. Definitely my favorite light. The chrome ones are awful, and I don’t think the chinstrap TRDs are much better (I had the 2020+ Pro for a while and they just had too much going on IMO).

Pre 2020 Pro Tails looks better than the newer ones with the black line in it IMO

I don't know why I find it so intriguing, but it's so neat for me to learn all these small differences the 16-19 and then the 20-23 trucks and what they have. Honestly if I hadn't seen a picture of your pre-facelift Pro tails vs the 20+ ones, I'm not sure I would've ever noticed a difference. But I agree, the black line through the housing is a bit odd and yours look a lot cleaner.

I got them from a local member on here and this is now the 3rd truck they've been on. Started out on another members '17 then went on my '21 which I pulled off at the dealer when I traded it in on my '22. I don't know why I don't like that black line in the newer ones.

Can never go wrong with OEM Pro tail lights. I have them on my Lunar Rock. I think it would go great being that yours is black. I personally think they look better on dark vehicles.

I have a set of OEM red ones off my 2016 I might be willing to part with.
Great shape. I only took them off to switch to some smoked led lights.

Yep, my ‘21 SR came with the solid red. Best looking tail lights out of the bunch. Miss the old skool amber turns, just isn’t a Toyota without those. So for the OP best tail lights for a black 3rd Gen are the ones of they did for the Marty McFly truck. :)

Yeah, I'd definitely buy an amber version housing if it was an option...hence why I run the VLEDS tail light conversion instead. What's even worse is now the 4th gen is going to standard LED that are combined stop/turn. So essentially blinking the brake light. Dumb. You would think everyone would be using separate ambers on everything these days.

Don’t know why ambers aren’t standard on all vehicles, find them easier to see.

Noticed the Ford’s have amber turns.
