IIRC that's where the PCV side is as well, so that explains more varnish. The 3.5's are the same way. Just keep using your favourite on sale synthetic and change it often and you will be good.

 

you may try heating it up with a heat gun to soften it up. When they get hard and brittle like that it’s always a battle to remove.

Either that is an optical illusion or that is a lot of grass stuck to that deck

 

Lol. , nope it was real. If I remember I didn't do it last year , so that's 2 yrs worth , plus I have 2 cuts this yr , plus my neighbors yd I just did was soaked and wet as a marsh. Anyone have tips to prevent this ? I was thinking fluid film but it would probably attract the grass.

Unfortunately ya just gotta keep up on it manually during the mowing season. Those wash ports are a hit or miss. I put my mower on ramps and scrape what I can off occasionally throughout the season.

 

If I had to do again or when I buy a new one, I should/would wax the underside , might help ? To late now , have some rust spots starting, probably where I scrapped last times..

Only thing you can really do is sand off as much rust as possible, prime with a high zinc primer, and topcoat it with some paint of your choice. Decks are so thin nowadays there's almost nothing you can do besides just keep on top of it.

 

So what are we on our 2nd or 3rd winter. I woke up freezing this morning.

Honestly this is the worst time of year. When the weather doesn't know what it wants to do.

 

Suspension is on my truck, waiting for new swaybar endlinks to come in on Wednesday and then I can take it in for an alignment. This Ironman4x4 FoamCell Pro suspension is beefy, completely dwarfs the Bilstein 5100's and OME 887's. The bigger leaf packs that I built look tiny compared to them.












I'll get pictures of the truck today. It rides so nice now even with the load range e tires. It rode like a single screw daycab International bobtailing before with the 5100's, 886's and than even after I switched to 887's.

 

When I took a walk with my dog this morning that wind cut right through me. I think not having too harsh of a winter really makes a cold day feel colder.

 

It's certainly a good time to get sick, with all the changes.
