It's a wonderful ride for sure! It's hanging out in the garage with my '74 G5 - apparently I'm collecting a Kawasaki from every decade now

Nice collection you have there. This is my 2 Kaws that's been sitting for many years, 76 kz900 & 78 kz1000. Before I moved out of state I sold my 75 z1900 & my other 76 kz900.

Y’all! Had to head down to Columbus for a club event yesterday, so I decided to take the KLX. About 200 miles round trip. The little bugger had absolutely no issues (except I almost ran it out of gas again). Hell yeh.

forgot to mention that i broke the bracket for my headlight so it now wobbles all over the place! so decided to order a more modern style headlight for the bike that a lot of people on the forums really like. might have to contact skda about getting a graphics bit for this.

I have that boot but in brown. Love them. The first time I wore them was day one of a weekend MSF course. Six plus hours on my feet with no discomfort. I came from a dirt bike background and chose these for the foot and ankle protection they provide. They are more than adequate for forestry roads and mild off roading. Easy to walk in, and don’t look out of place if you stop at a patio for a burger and beer.

I'm joining the 50+ club this year too, and from your post, I’ve taken note of how to do it with style. Awesome new bike man! Enjoy.

My track day was AWESOME!!! Took it easy for the first few seasons but by the 5th session I was feeling pretty confident in the bike and the tires. In all the years of riding , I have done 4 track days, did some pretty aggressive street riding when I was younger But I have never put a knee down. Always had that lean angle fear. Well that ended yesterday. I put my knee down in a long left sweeper that’s about 70 ish mph in the 6th session. I did that two laps in a row. It did not freak me out at all. Came in and celebrated with my brother. Then going into the last session I was consistently putting my left knee down in three different left hand turns. But that’s not all. For me turning right is not as easy for me. I built up my courage and was able to get my left knee down twice in the same corner. The Bike handled like it was on rails, the tires stuck with 0 slips , was real slow on the straight (110 indicated) , a little cramped but overall freaking amazing. Was able to get 38mpg average wringing the crap out of it.

pic of left puck after dragging the entire left hand sweeper multiple times. What a bad ass feeling.

pic of right puck !! If I had more time I am sure I could have dragged more. Still bad ass

hell yeah! Can't imagine how great that felt...I'm going back to the track this Friday with my R3 myself, haven't gotten a knee down yet so we'll see if I can make it happen this time.

I could get my elbow down in the carousel on my r6, but only ever got my right knee down one time, ever, in the slow turn 12 right before the back straight that goes down the hill. Great job! We're you braking into 1 or taking it at 110? That section was always my favorite there, up the hill leaned over, but then 1 was a little scary. Picked up lots of bikes waaaaaaay out in the dirt

Just before turn 1 I would go down two gears then coast it out and maybe adjust speed with front brakes then release and go left then the right I touched a knee in that corner. Yes slow turn 12 is where the left knee touched.
