Just discovered my radiator has a small leak. Any one have recommendations on the pour in sealant kits? Or should those be avoided?

I used some one time out in Moab and it ran fine from June to November when I finally changed the radiator.
No idea what brand it was tho.

Thanks. I picked up a rando can at o’reilly since I was there anyway. Managed to misplace a bolt while relocating my power steering cooler and the local stealership didn’t have the bolt in stock.

my leak was a pin hole. I didn't catch it at first. looked like pine straw sticking out. the stream was that constant. I got whatever product from oriellys also.

i personally wouldn't touch a stop leak kit with a 10ft pole unless it was on a vehicle i didn't care about. can wreak havoc on your coolant system down the line

awww snap hahaha well def don't stress it, i'd just recommend a thorough cooling system flush when you replace the radiator to get all that stuff out of there. Its not to say you will have issues down the line with stop leak in the system, buttt i personally wouldn't wanna risk it for an extended amount of time.

I’ll get a flush on tab asap. Watched a couple videos and doesn’t look too tough.

May not be replacing the radiator if the leak is fixed. Even if I do done the line a flush now won’t hurt.

Anyone have a 2nd gen passenger side headlight they would want to part with. My drivers side is near perfect so it would have to be in near new condition to match. I would be open to buying a set if price was right (so they match). My passenger side has developed a massive moisture leak. Thanks in advance.

Recapping this. Had the stealership do a coolant system flush as their pricing seemed reasonable. Too bad they failed to reattach the overflow tank hose to the radiator so every time it went to discharge the the excess it shot coolant into my engine bay rather than the tank.

Also appears the stop leak junk I put in the radiator didn’t stop the leak. So I’m back to square one after throwing away a couple hundred bucks…replace the radiator and refill all the coolant system or JB weld the current unit assuming I can locate the source of the leak.

Anyone have positive/negative experience with aftermarket radiators or are OEM the only sensible solution?

Denso is basically an OEM replacement, pretty sure it's who supplies OEM anyway but I could be wrong. Haven't had any issues with my Denso replacement and you can get it from Rockauto for a decent price, don't forget the TW 5% coupon on their vendor page.

Slobbed up the area I think is leaking with some JB weld as someone suggested. I’ll probably go the RockAuto, and likely Denso, route if it still leaks.

Plus side being I’m off work all next week for Spring Break. Downside being the time I’d allocated for truck work was supposed to be for suspension install, not radiator replacement :frusty:

So I had taken my truck to Atlanta Toyota sometime last year to get an alignment after getting new camtabs. Got the truck back and the ABS light and traction light were both on...tried telling them this and they said it came in like that and blamed me. Decided to just never go back there for anything and figure out the issue myself. Turns out they stretched the abs cable on one of the sides. I'm gonna order a replacement now finally, but should I go with OEM or do y'all think ordering an extended one will be better since I'm lifted like 4" in the front?
