Well, on the surface, looks like I'll be okay.

    Couple things...
How's this working out for ya?
And which 5160s do you have on the rear?

@memario1214 guess it's going to come down front coil choice, and if the 5160s I have on the shelf are compatible.

If you're okay with possibly not getting QUITE 2" of front lift then I can say that you'll be perfectly okay with 650s.

5100’s are valved for stock coil springs and 6112’s are not valved for anything over 650# springs.
Using anything heavier is going to ride like shit. Just facts.

Same 5160s you have on the shelf. I bought the same kit from wheelers.

    Looks like we’re getting closer:thumbsup:

My 5100s have had 650s since new. Was great until the truck started to get fat.

Not disputing, just statement. I will agree better to be valved appropriately.

    Thank you.

    Yessir.

So, it seems if I stay 650s, makes no sense to make a change?

Mine rode well with 650 coils and full armor and winch. 700 would be overkill I think. Also not recommended to go heavier than 650 with the 6112s

I have about the same weight as you on my truck minus the rear bumper and my skids are steel instead of aluminum. I went 650s on my 6112s and they are perfect. they have held the weight just fine and squish pretty nicely. Wheelers told me if you go full plate bumper in the front (with the rest of the armor) thats when 700s shine but if you are on a winch bumper 650s are the suggested route.

How are the 5160s doing for those with 2in of rear lift. On Blisteins website they are rated for only up to 1.5. I’m interested in either Dobinsons IMS or the 6112/5160 set up but want to run 2in at the rear.

    Figured I’d ask here…

On Friday I installed the 6112/5160 setup with icon rxt stage 1 on my 2020 Tacoma. 10/8 clip setting up front. Torqued everything back down to spec. Made sure to mark and even took pictures of my Lca cam bolts to put them back where they were when I went to torque them down. Install went smooth and everything looks (mostly) great. Truck is much more level than expecting. Was assuming I’d keep the factory rake by moving the front and rear up roughly 1.8”. But it being level is fine too. Guess I didn’t account for a bed mat and tonneau cover, plus some tools in the bed.

Didn’t take stock height measurements but post lift I’m at

    DF: 23 1/4 PF: 23 1/2
    DR: 23 1/4 PR: 24

Anyways. Took it in for an alignment on Saturday and the tech said everything looks great alignment wise. Only thing he did was adjust the steering wheel to make it straight.

Noticed the truck seems to wander a fair amount. Nothing crazy, but definitely doesn’t feel right and the front end feels pretty light and not grounded, if that makes any sense. I’ve rechecked the torque on everything and can’t find anything loose.

Do these alignment specs look good? Anything I should have the shop adjust?

    Hey guys,

I recently had my 6112s and 5160s installed with icon rxts at option 1. 6112s were set to 8/6. I did not have the taco lean before, and now I feel as if my truck is overcompensated for it with the driver side being a full inch higher in the front and rear than the passenger side. Should I just expect to get more of a lean as I put more miles on this new setup and itll even out or should I try to switch the 6112s to 7/6 or 6/6?

How new is the installation will take some time for it to settle

Expect some settling all around. give it a few weeks then re-measure. you can always adjust down to 7/6 using the weight of the truck to loosen the top hat, bring the ring down one slot, and re tighten.

Not sure if you already got everything done, but I figured I'd put in my 2 cents. I also have an sso front bumper with a winch. I have the 6112's with 650s. I've found that the 650s will lift the front half an inch over what the settings says it will for the 6112's, but with the winch and bumper it brings it back down about half an inch. I agree with what everyone else is saying and think the 650s will be just fine. I would only go with the 700s if you want more lift and don't mind a rough ride.

The low caster angle will owe to lack of tracking and light steering (on top of your trucks already light steering) wheel feel on center. You will have to look and see where the adjusters are set to to know of there's adjustments left. This is one of the things that aftermarket UCAs correct for (as the suspension moved down in travel it looses caster and camber angle)

Before going and buying new UCAs, you could try adding in a tiny bit more total toe. I would try going up to at least 0.13 total. The extra toe will help make it feel less wandery going straight and in turns.

I,m ready to install 6112's/5160's 600# spring set at 10/8 Icon AAL on a 23 TRD OR DCLB i have sway bar relocation kit just in case
would i need a diff drop or would the axle angle be minimal with the 1.7" front lift
is there any difference in rear ride quality with or without the factory overload leaf spring when adding AAL
    thanks in advance

I love reading the 6112 threads because there is a middle 650# option that people try, rather than for example, 5100 options of raised stock coils, long 586/590#, or long 700# coilsprings.
Some rave about one thing or the other, but there is no middle rate alternarnative to evaluate.

You shouldn't need the diff drop unless you are going 3"+, 1.7 is plenty fine to not use a diff drop. I would suggest using the sway bar relocate though for any lift if you plan on keeping the sway bar. I kept mine on because its a daily driver and the relocate drops it about an inch and moves it just slightly forward (I think its forward).

I've been waiting for a month now for my 6112s to be shipped and now they aren't even expected to be made til sometime next month. Does anyone know of a shop that has them in a kit,6112/5160 in stock for a gen3?
