Lots more large tire options with 17 wheels.

I can't think of any disadvantages.

yes, only disadvantage, is if you want to rotate all 5 tires. but that's personal preference.

Less tire sidewall if comparing same circumference tires but that's about it.

And if you air down your tires more sidewall can be a good thing.

Yes! I run 16’s on my 2015, but I got a set of 17’s that I got for $200. to run on my rig while I got my 16’s powder coated. They were fine with no problems! Here are my 16’s.IMG_3146.jpg Here it is with the 17’s on it.IMG_3098.jpg

    2nd gen came with 17’s.

    advantages:
-bead grip wheels likely only come in 17
    -17 may look better
    -17 can clear brake setups that a 16 wouldn’t

They put 16's on all of the Off Road versions as far as I know. 16's give you more rubber between the ground and bottom of the rim. That is better when driving off road. It allows more tire flex and better traction.

As you go to larger wheels (assuming the tire diameter remains the same) you have less rubber between the ground and bottom of the wheel. This means less body lean when cornering aggressively. In some ways it is more stable when towing for the same reason.

Also have 16's on my 2013 Double Cab. Bought some new to me 17" rims getting ready to put on. What tire sizes do you all run on this setup so there is no tire rubbing?

I'm running 275/70r17 bfg ko2's. I had zero rubbing until I installed 1" bora wheels spacers, then I just removed the front mud flaps.
